Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great (prince) According to my info the word LEADER is translated PRINCE.
June 2, 2006 at 7:21 pm#14456NickHassanParticipantHi M,
A prince is a being with authority.
A prince is surely the son of a king.
A prince derives it's being from a king.
A prince has authority derived from his sonship of the king.
A prince may inherit the throne.
Princes are the family of the king.
The firstborn prince is first to inherit.
In Daniel Michael is called 'The great prince'
The Son of God is called 'the prince of princes'
Satan is called 'the prince of this world'
The sons of God met with God in Jb 1-2 and Satan was among them.
The prince of Persia withstood Michael.
There are other evil princes who affect those on earth.
There are evil principalities and powers in heavenly realms.
Satan had a kingdom of darkness on earth.
He was rebellious ruler of earth as a prince.
God still tolerated his evil son in the heavenlies.
One third of the angels served Satan yet were tolerated in the heavenlies.June 8, 2006 at 12:00 am#14656NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus is described as a
Prince[Acts 5.31]
Prince of Princes[Dan], but also
Prince of Peace[Is 9.6, and the
Prince of life[Acts 3.15]If he is a Prince then
Who is the King?
Is the Father ever shown as a Prince?
If not why not in a coequal trinitarian biblical view?June 8, 2006 at 12:22 am#14658malcolm ferrisParticipantGood thoughts there Nick
How many Great Princes are there?
Michael is called The Great Prince, Jesus is called The Prince of Peace….June 8, 2006 at 3:01 am#14677ProclaimerParticipantI think this is where JWs get the belief that Jesus is Michael the Archangel.
The Great Prince – Michael
Prince of princes – JesusSimilar to confusing the following titles as the same being.
Mighty God/god – Jesus
Almighty God – The FatherThere are many princes, but there can only be one who is the 'prince of princes'.
June 10, 2006 at 12:15 am#14749MichaelTheeArchAngelParticipantThis study is done from the N.I.V Exhaustive Concordance.
The two words of this study are, (PRINCE-S) and LEADER-S-ING).
Now the Hebrew word (NASIY). Ref # 5954 is used 39 times for the word (PRINCE-S).
And the Hebrew word (SAR). Ref # 8569 is used 51 times for the word (PRINCE-S).As you can see NASIY and SAR are very different words. Also the word NASIY is used a total of 131 times: And the word SAR is used a total of 421 times; 78 times as officials, 110 times as commander-s and 32 times as officer-s.
The other alternate Hebrew words for PRINCE are these.
5592. NAGIYD (PRINCE) 3 times. / 5618. NADIYB (PRINCE-S) 6 times. / 5687. NAZIYR (PRINCE-S) 3 times. / 5817. NASIYK (PRINCE-S). 3 times.
You should take notice that they all began with the letters ” N A “.
In Daniel 11:22 the word PRINCE is #5592 NAGIYD. In our different bible, interpretations are often given in place of translations.
It's something to think about.June 10, 2006 at 12:17 am#14750MichaelTheeArchAngelParticipantHello, Im sorry it took me so long to get back to everyone. I've been very busy.:D
June 10, 2006 at 12:31 am#14751MichaelTheeArchAngelParticipantI also would like to remind you that, it was Origin who stated that verse 9 of the book of Jude was added to support the book called; the Assumption of Moses. And again the book of Enoch & The Dead Sea Scrolls imply that Michael is a human being. The Hebrew word “SAR” do's not mean “PRINCE”. That is a interpretation, not a translation.

According to Daniel;
Michael is a leader among the princes.
Jesus the messiah is the Prince of princes.
Therefore Jesus is not Michael as the JW's would try and have you believe.August 25, 2006 at 8:23 pm#25617NickHassanParticipantHi cam,

Check Daniel.
Michael is one of the chief princes.
Messiah, the prince of peace, is the prince of princes.March 20, 2007 at 2:10 am#45594NickHassanParticipantHi,
Acts 3
“13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.14But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
16And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. “
So Jesus is not the God of Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, or of the patriarchs.
He is plainly the Son of that God.
He was also not yet appointed King of kings but a prince, the first in line to inherit when he died.
He poured out his soul unto death. Is 53
10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
How can folk mix him up with his Dad beats me.

Hi NickSo are you saying that Michael is possibly the Prince of Jesus?
for example:
God then
Jesus then
Michael?Oops…
God then
Jesus then
Holy Spirit then
Michael?Hugs
March 24, 2007 at 8:58 pm#46007NickHassanParticipantHi P,
The Spirit of God is ever inseparable from God unlike His monogenes Son with whom God came into unity.
The Prince of Princes is the prince in authority over Michael the prince.March 25, 2007 at 1:44 am#46039PhoenixParticipantIm confused with this then.
Zec 3:1,2
1And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.2And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Compare with
Jude 1:9
9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. What is with that?
Also, Dan 12 speaks of the End Times
1And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.NIV
1 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.Im confused

March 25, 2007 at 1:46 am#46040NickHassanParticipantHi P,
Michael is a wonderful and faithful and powerful servant of God.
He serves Christ who serves God.
He is one of the mighty angelic majesties.2 Thessalonians 1:7
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,Jude
8Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties.Yet they too serve Christ and us in him.
Heb 1
“13But to which of the angels has He ever said,
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES
A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET”?14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
