When do you believe the rapture occurs in relationship to the Tribulation?February 12, 2008 at 8:09 pm#81252NickHassanParticipantHi,
Luke 4:25
But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;Could this scripture also symbolise the taking of the body of Christ, with the Spirit of God, from earth for the same length of time?

Hi,
Compare Rev113And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

March 17, 2008 at 9:36 am#84119NickHassanParticipantHi,
Those who will be at the feast include the “great men of old”.11And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
March 17, 2008 at 8:09 pm#84136Mr. SteveParticipantNick;
The term children is referring to the spiritually immature. The unwise servants and virgins who have been negligent and reckless in their walk with the Lord. The terms “outer darkness” is referring to the court that is without, the outer court of the temple, which shall be trodden under foot of the Gentiles for three and one half years. The day of the Lord which commences as a thief in the night before the tribulation is said to be a very dark day. Jesus tells us to pray that our flight is not on the winter or Sabbath because then shall be great tribulation. It is the only time where Christ fills in the blanks for us and tells us what to pray for for ourselves specifically.
March 17, 2008 at 8:24 pm#84137NickHassanParticipantHi Steve,
Yes.
Except that the warning about fleeing is to those in Judaea, a specific warning to the Jews.Lk 21
20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Mk 13
13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
Mt 24
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Quote 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Hi Nick:True, but he will be cast out of the church and in his rage he will persecute the children of God in the last 3 1/2 years of the present world.

Satan has no role in the true church and his seed, the tares, will be removed at the end.

Hi Nick:My understanding is that these who are cast out of heaven(not literal heaven but the kingdom of God or heaven) are those who profess to be Christians who will be deceived by the Satan and will fall away from the church, and those who are alive at the coming of the Lord will have worshipped the Anti-Christ.
Yes, those who are cast out will persecute the woman(Israel) as they did in the Roman Empire era (not the nation of Israel) but Christians(from the nation of Israel) and they will also persecute the Israel of God from the gentile nations.

Hi 94,
I do not think the Kingdom of God\ Heaven
is a synonym for heaven or should be interpreted in that light.Satan has access to heaven as Job1-2 shows and it is the home of angels so heaven doing housekeeping precedes the cleanup of earth

Why would God cast the devil out of literal heaven? Don't we have enough trouble down here as it is?In the book of Job God asks Satan where he has been or something on this order and Satan answers that he has been going to an fro in the earth.
The dragon who is also called Satan in the book of revelation is shown as a wonder in heaven but he is here on earth.
