Quote (Not3in1 @ July 20 2009,14:19) Quote (Nick Hassan @ July 20 2009,12:58) Hi Not3,
Do you think Jesus moved in some natural power that did not need the anointing of the Holy Spirit?[acts 10.38]
Jesus lived, breathed, moved, and has his being because of God's holy spirit.Jesus is an offspring of holy Spirit.
We are mud-men.You like to put Jesus in the same category as yourself – after all he is your brother – right? But remember, we are adopted. Jesus belonged at birth.
Hi not3,
So the spirit that enlivened him was always only the Holy Spirit? That means he was not a man-how can us mudmen follow him?
Was Mary not really his mother though he called her such?
So was it the faithful Holy Spirit that left him when he died?[mt 27.50. Ecc12]
In which spirit then was he when he visited the prison in 1Peter3?

Oh sure, now you want to give Mary her due when it is convenient with your doctrine.I've never understood this theory that Jesus has to be just like mankind for us to follow him? Where is that written – anywhere?
Quote So was it the faithful Holy Spirit that left him when he died?[mt 27.50. Ecc12]
1 Cor. 2:11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The spirit of God is who God is. Likewise, the spirit of Jesus is who Jesus is. It is this spirit, like the one you have, and I have, that Jesus gave up on the cross. We will also let go of our spirit when we breathe our last.
Quote In which spirit then was he when he visited the prison in 1Peter3?
1 Peter 3He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19through whom[d] also he went and preached to the spirits in prison…
The little “d” note says this: OR alive in the Spirit. And, through which…..
Puts a different spin on it, doesn't it?
July 20, 2009 at 3:36 am#138112NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
So God is the Holy Spirit? So how does the Holy Spirit help us to pray to God[rom8]?July 20, 2009 at 3:38 am#138113NickHassanParticipantHi not3,

I agree.July 20, 2009 at 3:41 am#138114NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
So we ARE our spirit?
Can you discern between soul and spirit?[heb4]
Salvation of the Soul is the aim of our path so what does this mean?[1Peter1]July 20, 2009 at 3:46 am#138115Not3in1ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 20 2009,15:36) Hi not3,

Romans 8:26, 27In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
1 Corinthians 2:16
“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. These two passages are significant to me because one says there is a “Spirit” who himself intercedes for us and searches the “mind of the Spirit”.
But in 1 Cor. we are told that no one can know the mind of the Lord. Indeed, we have the mind of Christ.
Contradiction, if you ask me.
July 20, 2009 at 3:48 am#138116Not3in1ParticipantOf course if you want to adopt the trinitarian way of looking at things….this idea of another “Spirit” would make complete sense (I'm hearing an “Amen” from Keith!)

I agree.
But Nick,Where we do not agree is that Jesus was a combination of his two parents (God and man).
God is holy Spirit 100%
Mary is mankind 100%Jesus is their Son.
Jesus' spirit was, for lack of a better way of putting it, organically different than ours. He indeed was/is the new creation!

Hi not3,
No we just need more breadth of understanding. The Spirit of God helps us understand the mind of God Who is in heaven.
July 20, 2009 at 3:57 am#138119NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
The only way he was a new creation is that he was given to share in the Spirit of God.[rom1.3]

I think that Jesus had His own spirit which existed from the time just before creation and was in a heavenly body. I also believe that His spirit was always united to the Spirit of His Father for there was no sin to have seperated them. Two separate spirits united from the beginning. Then we receive that united spirit to unite with our spirit when we are born again. Hi LU,
Joined to the Father?
Not any sort of son then. What of angels are they not with God either but part of him till they sin?
July 20, 2009 at 4:31 am#138127LightenupParticipantNick,
Are you joined to the Father by the Spirit? Are you a son? He is THE Son joined by the spirit…never was separated. There was never sin found in Him.July 20, 2009 at 4:35 am#138128NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Yes but Jesus was not forever one with God but became one with him.He was not a clone or an outcrop of God.
He is the Son of God filled with God's Spirit making them one and we follow him.
July 20, 2009 at 4:36 am#138129LightenupParticipantNick,
The Son and angels are all separate beings united together to the Spirit of the Father until sin separated some of the angels. Sin never separated the Son from His Father. IMO - AuthorPosts
