James defined religion but you differ.
Revelation speaks of the synagogue of satan.

26 If anyone among you[a] thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

James is not disagreeing with Paul statement that Christianity and Judaism are same religion.
Revelation is harsher than Paul as it declares that the Jews that are members of what it labels the synagogue of Satan are not Jews. It emphasizes that point by repeating it a second time.
The true gospel of Christianity is the true branch of Judaism.

4 “My manner of life from my youth, which was spent from the beginning among my own nation at Jerusalem, all the Jews know. 5 They knew me from the first, if they were willing to testify, that according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
You are well aware Paul does not say “according to their religion” but instead says “according to our religion”. You also know the difference between the two and so the only thing that is obstructing you is that you are having trouble with believing Paul’s words.
You also know that neither James or Revelations declare Christianity as a new religion but you through them against the wall because of you difficulty in handling what Scripture actually states. This is a minor matter that should not trouble anyone.
