Quote (Nick Hassan @ April 09 2007,11:43) Hi kenrch,
The cornerstone brought mercy into the church of God and that church is also built of mercy.
Why sure if I should fall and break one of the commandments then I'm shown mercy because of Jesus. But I do not deliberately break any of the commandments. Do you?
April 9, 2007 at 12:13 am#48085NickHassanParticipantHi kenrch,
Clinging to striving observance of the OT leaves no room for mercy.
Faith demands we trust the leading of the Spirit.
That is the law of the Spirit.
Then watch fruit.

Then why did Jesus die? Was it not for forgivness of sin? What is sin?April 9, 2007 at 12:45 am#48090NickHassanParticipantHi kenrch,
Jn 16
'7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9Of sin, because they believe not on me; “

What's your point Nick?Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.Unless you have the Spirit you cannot keep the law of God.
Spirit and Truth.

The Stone was laid in a new building not known before Christ.
yet those of true faith from Abraham
are built into it their eyes being
on goodness and
not on evil.April 9, 2007 at 12:40 pm#48140kenrchParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ April 09 2007,15:19) Hi Kenrch,

Why can't you address the scriptures Nick?April 24, 2007 at 12:54 am#50300NickHassanParticipantHi,
The same stone is also a rock of offence.
Paul could barely open his mouth without men wanting to kill him.Isaiah 8:14
And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Romans 9:33
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
1 Peter 2:8
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.April 27, 2007 at 12:19 pm#50778Cult BusterParticipantNick Hassen
Quote The same stone is also a rock of offence. Deu 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The monogenes Son of God continues to be the stumbling stone for those who confuse him with his Father.June 28, 2007 at 2:00 am#56812NickHassanParticipantHi,
Faith in Jesus is still vital for salvation.
He remains a stumbling stone and a rock of offense for many.July 23, 2007 at 8:50 pm#61276NickHassanParticipantHi,
Many want the cornerstone of the new temple [eph2.20f] to not be Christ,
who has that appointed role, but want Christ to be instead the God it is built for.
The Son of God suffers continued rejection at the hands of men and God is called a liar.
Again Christ proves to be the stumbling stone and the rock of offense.January 6, 2008 at 7:41 pm#76810NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus Christ still is a stumbling stone and a rock of offence to many.January 22, 2008 at 1:06 am#79763NickHassanParticipantHi,
Paul too with Christ in him, his hope of glory, continued the sufferings of Christ.January 22, 2008 at 1:13 am#79764NickHassanParticipantHi,
Paul had to give up on the stubborn jewish legalists.
Acts 28
25And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,26Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
30And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Some believe in Magic.
They think that because of the suffering and death of the Messiah they are automatically saved. No we need to come to the Saviour and lay the approved foundation stone.
History saves nobody.January 28, 2009 at 6:16 pm#119454NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus remains a stumbling stone for many who cannot accept his Lordship and his teachings.September 28, 2009 at 10:18 pm#147812NickHassanParticipantHi,
The stumbling stone of Jesus still trips those who would bypass him as lord.February 20, 2012 at 12:17 am#279502NickHassanParticipantHi,
Men still try to fit the ways of God into the ways of men.
