Because I don't believe in G-d inspiring people to commit genocide. Because miracles have never been shown to be true. Because modern practices eliminate some archaic practices which were needed then but no longer.

“Shown”. Miracles happen everyday so they are shown. You mean to say you have no faith that God can make miracles occur? The resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross is one such.January 14, 2008 at 12:30 am#78441TowshabParticipantQuote (acertainchap @ Jan. 13 2008,18:26) Quote (Towshab @ Jan. 14 2008,11:20) Because miracles have never been shown to be true.

Ever see anyone walk on water? Calm a storm? Part the ocean? Raise a person who has been dead for 3-4 days? Feed a multitude of people with a few fish and loaves of bread?January 14, 2008 at 12:33 am#78443acertainchapParticipantQuote (Towshab @ Jan. 14 2008,11:30) Ever see anyone walk on water? Faith.January 14, 2008 at 12:42 am#78445TowshabParticipantThen why no faith in Harry Potter?
January 14, 2008 at 12:46 am#78446NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
You believe in a God of creation Who inspired some parts of the bible?
But you do not believe that God could recreate as in miracles?
Is that such a hard thing for a Creator God to do?January 14, 2008 at 12:53 am#78450acertainchapParticipantQuote (Towshab @ Jan. 14 2008,11:42) Then why no faith in Harry Potter?
I don't understand what a fantasy book has to do with The Bible. Uh let's see, I don't have anything to do with the occult and magic so Harry Potter is a no. God's Word is faithful and true.January 14, 2008 at 12:59 am#78451TowshabParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 13 2008,18:46) Hi tow,

I can see creation. I know of no verified comparable miracles.January 14, 2008 at 1:02 am#78454TowshabParticipantQuote (acertainchap @ Jan. 13 2008,18:53) Quote (Towshab @ Jan. 14 2008,11:42) Then why no faith in Harry Potter?

How is what Harry Potter did and what Jesus supposedly did much different?January 14, 2008 at 1:04 am#78456NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
So you would have to see a miracle to confirm that your God can do them?January 14, 2008 at 1:07 am#78460TowshabParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 13 2008,18:46) Hi tow,

No it is not but why should we automatically take it as true when so many other explanations will apply?January 14, 2008 at 1:09 am#78461NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
Creation is a miracle and you believe God did it.
But you cannot believe He can do any more?January 14, 2008 at 1:15 am#78468TowshabParticipantYes I can, but I can see creation. Can I see what has been written?
January 14, 2008 at 1:19 am#78469NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
It is amazing to me that anyone can see the glories of God's creation in the wonders of the tiny Universe and still think that such a God cannot cure blindness and raise the dead.January 14, 2008 at 1:22 am#78472TowshabParticipantAnd I think it is amazing that you believe Jesus did it and said you could do greater than he but you have yet to do so.
January 14, 2008 at 1:23 am#78473TowshabParticipantUh, you or any other Christian for that matter.
January 14, 2008 at 1:26 am#78475NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
So God cannot do anything and neither can his anointed men?
small godJanuary 14, 2008 at 1:28 am#78476TowshabParticipantHe can, bust has He? You believe He has because of the bible. Did He stop getting involved in 100 CE then? I guess He has abandoned us then, according to your belief.
January 14, 2008 at 1:32 am#78478NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
So your God did not inspire the OT at all as He was not capable of inspiring men?
Why do you not ignore it completely as to quote it sounds hollow for you to quote it.January 14, 2008 at 1:56 am#78484TowshabParticipantNick, your constant attack on what I believe and don't believe actually works against you. That would not be the case if YOU did not believe in 100% infallibility. Since I list scripture from your OT which denies Jesus as being King Messiah, what I believe or not believe has no bearing on what is found in Tanakh. So keep up your ploy or attacking my personal beliefs because more and people will see where you look to me and not the bible.
