Hi ,
Jesus offered men the life giving waters.Jn 7
” 37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
That water had been available to the Jews too.
Jer 17
” 13O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. “1Cor 10
“4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. “Because the Lord is the Spirit
2Cor 3
” 17Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

1 John 1
“1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) “
So the Life that was not the Father but was with the Father was manifested in flesh.
John is a true witness and we should believe him.November 20, 2006 at 3:17 am#32724NickHassanParticipantthis is topical

Jn 1
“4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. “
He had been given to have life in himself and became the source of that eternal life and light for men. He was the one who baptised in the Spirit, in the Spirit of God.December 18, 2006 at 7:41 pm#34665NickHassanParticipantHi,
The Word having been given life clearly was not always existant.
Of course sons derive from parents so that makes sense.December 18, 2006 at 8:12 pm#34668NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jn 5
57″As the living Father sent Me,
and I live because of the Father,
so he who eats Me,
he also will live because of Me.”His life is from the Father.

Christ died on calvary.
Christ who had come and partaken of flesh gave up the life he had had with the Father even in the beginning.Jn 12
” 23And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.24Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
The grain of wheat fell to the ground and died so that the life of the Spirit of God could abide forever in him as it can also with us, life eternal.

Mk 8
35 For whosoever will save his life [5590]shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life[5590] for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.Mk 9
“43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life [zoe 2222]maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life[zoe 2222], than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:ZOE is eternal LIFE

Jn 1
” All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life[2222]; and the life[2222] was the light of men.”IN HIM
Life given to him by God so that he became a fountain of life for others.37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) “
He was the one to baptise in the Spirit.
Jn 1
” 32And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.33And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost'
He is the PRINCE OF LIFE
Acts 3
“14But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;15And killed the Prince of life[2222], whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.”

Jn 10
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life[2222], and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life[5590] for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep , and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life[5590] for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life[5590], that I might take it again.January 15, 2007 at 6:30 pm#37219NickHassanParticipantHi,
Christ died and his own spirit returned to God.
His body was lifeless but did not rot.
But he had been given the Spirit of God and that Spirit of eternal life[zoe] never leaves from those to whom it has been given and taken root, for eternity.
We follow him.My question.
Since all life entering the kingdom is united in this eternal life of God does this mean angels too come to share this life?January 16, 2007 at 6:19 am#37266Worshipping JesusParticipantQuote Hi,

Show me a scripture that says Jesus was given Eternal life.
I can show you one that says he is Eternal life!

Jn 5
” 26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;”So the Son was already a son
when he was GIVEN
to have LIFE in himself.Sons have their own spirit and life.
So this life was not his own natural life
That Life is the same life[zoe] of the Father. The Spirit of Eternal Life
We can come to Jesus to share that life.

NH
That scripture dosnt say Eternal life!
The Father gave Jesus to have life in himself, his natural life.
This is why he said the folowing…
Jn 10:
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Jesus said destroy this temple and **I will raise it again**.
In your own words you say…

You are reading into the scripture. Show me a scripture that says Jesus was **given Eternal life**.
He is the Eternal life that was with the Father.
Jn 11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:As you say “you should not go beyond what is written!

I dont see Eternal life here NH.
Did Jesus have a natural life?
Did Jesus have a Spiritual life?
You are not being truthful here. You are reading into the scripture.

Look at the context. Jesus is talking about the ressurection of the dead.
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Hi W,
If you look up ZOE you will find it relates to ETERNAL LIFE and not natural life.January 17, 2007 at 1:47 am#37334Worshipping JesusParticipantQuote Hi W,
If you look up ZOE you will find it relates to ETERNAL LIFE and not natural life.Wrong again!
Life “zoe” Which means;
1) life
a) the state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate
b) every living soul
2) life
It comes from the root word, “zao”, Which means;
1) to live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)
2) to enjoy real life
a) to have true life and worthy of the name
b) active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God
3) to live i.e. pass life, in the manner of the living and acting
a) of mortals or character
4) living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul
5) metaph. to be in full vigour
a) to be fresh, strong, efficient,
b) as adj. active, powerful, efficacious
Nothing here indicating Eternal life!
“If scripture does not teach something but you do that makes you greater than scripture and the Holy Spirit who wrote it thorough men does it not?”
“Inference is a poor witness to truth.”
