I saw the Davinci Code in the theater, but I did not think of this question until after reading the Book of Enoch. Here is my question. The movie basically said that Jesus had a wife and a child. In the Book of Enoch it says that before the Great Flood the sons of heaven would come down and defile the women born of Adam. It is very evident that God was not pleased with this at all. Why then would God let Jesus have a wife and then have a child? For some reason that does not make any sense. I was hoping somebody could shed some light on the situation?

You're right, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense at all. There are few people on here who like to discuss the book of Enoch, as though it were scripture. I am not one of them. This book of Enoch is not part of the Bible.
If the book of Enoch contradicts the Bible, perhaps the book of Enoch is not worth our time.david

Is the canon chosen by catholicism chosen also for you?August 9, 2006 at 11:45 am#23894MercyParticipantThe book of enoch does not contradict scripture, in fact any honest reader would be overwhelmed with direct corralations. To answer the question, Jesus did not marry nor did he have children. Problem solved.

The book of Enoch which isn't a book at all is against scripture. Who was the author of the “book” of Enoch. No book mentioned in the Bible as the “other” books are. Scripture says the offspring of the son's of God were men! Not monsters who went around eating everything in sight.August 9, 2006 at 8:39 pm#23929MercyParticipantit says they were giants.

Of course, I don't believe anything to be true just because most scholars believe it. But still, I'd like to know their reasons.

I have asked you many times if you have ever read Enoch. What about the Shepherd or other ones on this site. Can you answer? Is it a banned book for JWs? Do you obey all their rules?August 18, 2006 at 3:53 am#24708davidParticipantWhy do you always have to go there? Play the JW card.
ECCLESIASTES 12:12-13
“…..my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion [to them] is wearisome to the flesh. The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the [true] God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole [obligation] of man.”There's a lot of books I haven't read Nick. Billions.
