Quote (Phoenix @ Mar. 09 2007,09:35) Too right Charity I must quote also…
Ephesians 4:8 in the New English Bible says, “He ascended into the heights with captives in his train.”
NIV 8This is why it[a] says:
“When he ascended on high,
he led captives in his train
and gave gifts to men.”[a] Or God
Ps 68:18Hugs
Hi PhoenixSo much is told about the valley of dry bones that are dried up and have perished without hope and promise if we would only consider and read and hope to understand
Eze 37:11 ¶ Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Eze 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Eze 37:13 And ye shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Edit add; These are the firstfriuts by resurrection of life with christ?
Eze 37:9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

This is a recurring theme in scripture that Rudy has brought up and I would like it developed on it's own.It seems to start in Ex 23.16
” And you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field;also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field”So the first fruits and the total harvest are separate.
James 1.18
” In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the Word of Truth so that we might be, as it were, the first fruits among His creatures”Those in Christ.
Rev 14 .4
” These have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb”These are identified in Rev 7 as 144,000 Israelites from all the 12 tribes[though Dan is replaced by Manasseh]
Also Rom 8 23 tells us to that we have received the Spirit as first fruits of our redemption.
Perhaps Rev 19. 15 f is the full harvest of the earth.
Hi Nick, I believe the first fruits are the ecclesia, Gods “called out” ones who will be “snatched away” (raptured) at His coming where we will 'meet him in the air'. (1Cor,15:23) The total harvest will be at the 'consummation' when death is abolished and Christ gives up the kingdom to His Father God, who will be “All in all”. 1Cor.15:24-28.

1Cr 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and [that] they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
1Cr 16:16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with [us], and laboureth.
1Cr 16:17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.
1Cr 16:18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

Hi Jerry,
Christ is the firstfruits.
So all who are in him are also first fruits, picked as a perfect offering to God.March 13, 2007 at 6:33 am#44693davidParticipantQuote Christ is the firstfruits.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:20
“However, now Christ has been raised up from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep [in death].”1 CORINTHIANS 15:23
“But each one in his own rank: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence.”1 PETER 3:18
“Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit.”* * *
REVELATION 1:5
“and from Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness,” “The firstborn from the dead,”COLOSSIANS 1:18
“and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things;”The faithful followers of Jesus Christ, his spiritual brothers, are also a firstfruits to God, but not the primary firstfruits, being similar to the second grain crop, the wheat, which was presented to Jehovah on the day of Pentecost. They number 144,000 and are called the ones:
“bought from among mankind as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb” and “certain firstfruits of his creatures.” (Re 14:1-4; Jas 1:18)The apostle Paul also speaks of the faithful Jewish remnant who became the first Christians as being “firstfruits.” (Ro 11:16) The Christian Epaenetus is called “a firstfruits of Asia for Christ” (Ro 16:5), and the household of Stephanas “the firstfruits of Achaia.”—1Co 16:15.
Since the anointed Christians are begotten by the spirit as sons of God with the hope of resurrection to immortality in the heavens, they are said during their lifetime on earth to “have the firstfruits, namely, the spirit . . . while we are earnestly waiting for adoption as sons, the release from our bodies by ransom.” (Ro 8:23, 24) Paul says that he and fellow Christians with hopes of life in the spirit have “the token of what is to come, that is, the spirit,” which he also says is “a token in advance of our inheritance.”—2Co 5:5; Eph 1:13, 14.

Jesus is the firstfruits of God's life giving Spirit1 Corinthians 15:20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. We who are joined in Spirit with him meet him in the air.
1 Corinthians 15:23
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.James 1:18
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.Romans 8:23
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.Revelation 14:4
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. The firstfruits are complete at the return of Jesus
January 20, 2009 at 10:17 pm#118471NickHassanParticipantHi,
So looking again at 1Cor.It is written specifically to those in the body of Christ.
1Cor 1
1Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
Moving to Ch 15
Those who are not in Christ are not saved but still in their sins and their dead are perished outside of God's mercy. The ALL refers to the context to whom it is written, the Body of Christ
17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

“Each in their own order – not everyone is given all now, there is a called and chosen (firstfruits) , and also a general harvest ……….. the harvest needs to be prepared, the chaff separated from the wheat – the chaff (flesh/carnal nature) destroyed but the wheat (spirit) saved.”So speaking of a harvest, why would you call the “firstfruits” individual men
but the general harvest not men but parts of men?It makes no spiritual sense.

Greetings Nick…..Would you not consider the 144,000 the first fruits born unto the God family (Elohim) and those who follow the lamb…The setting for this harvest I would think will be immediately after and during the return of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords….And with a shout they will be caught up in the clouds and forever will they be with the Lord…January 21, 2009 at 2:06 am#118495NickHassanParticipantYes tj.

The firstfruits are individuals who have crucified the flesh/carnal nature – and so the remaining spiritual portion is all that is left – flesh is flesh, and does NOT inherit the kingdom of God ………..and so with the general harvest ……….the carnal nature dies/perishes/ is destroyed …….
