Quote (kejonn @ July 06 2007,08:22) CO, Just for the sake of curiosity, do you no longer lie? Have all lusts fled from you? Do you sometimes say hurtful things to others? Or have you become perfect? I'm not trying to mock you, but trying to figure out wherer you think this repentence does or doesn't belong. Are you speaking of after you accept the free gift of God, or before?
I cannot think of a single person who does not continue to daily struggle with the flesh. People do things that are contrary to God's Will almost every day. Failure to recognize these sins because you have an attitude that your sins are “covered by the blood” is haughty and self-serving. Yes, your sins are covered by the blood of the Lamb, but for every sin that you do not recognize, you do damage to your witness and relationship to God.
Please clarify. Thanks.
Hi kejonn.
Thanks for your comments. You ask, 'do I lie, do I lust, etc. I am still in the flesh, the flesh cannot please God, of course I still sin. But God sees our sin no more, we have been “justified” by Christs' death and ressurrection. God has “conciliated” Himself to us through Him. Here is some scripture explaining this:2 Cor.5:14-21
14 For the love of Christ is constraining us, judging this, that, if One died for the sake of all, consequently all died.
15 And He died for the sake of all that those who are living should by no means still be living to themselves, but to the One dying and being roused for their sakes.
16 So that we, from now on, are acquainted with no one according to flesh. Yet even if we have known Christ according to flesh, nevertheless now we know Him so no longer.
17 So that, if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: the primitive passed by. Lo! there has come new!
18 Yet all is of God, Who conciliates us to Himself through Christ, and is giving us the dispensation of the conciliation,
19 how that God was in Christ, conciliating the world to Himself, not reckoning their offenses to them, and placing in us the word of the conciliation.
20 For Christ, then, are we ambassadors, as of God entreating through us. We are beseeching for Christ's sake, “Be conciliated to God!”
21 For the One not knowing sin, He makes to be a sin offering for our sakes that we may be becoming God's righteousness in Him.Notice that when Christ died, we are concidered to have died with Him. Our imputed death has concidered our penalty paid, (the wages of sin is death), in Gods eyes we are “justified”. He sees our sin no more. (verse 19)
Now that we are justified, made righteous in Gods eyes, (verse 21), why would we be required to repent of our sins? Christ has done it all, it would be an insult to God to say we are repenting of our sins, when He has sent His Son, to endure a horrible, painfull, sacrifice, to do that for us.
I can take no credit for my salvation, Christ has done it all, I can not say, I repented, I accepted this free gift, I entered the narrow gate. No, I cannot “Boast” of any of these accomplishments, My trust is in God alone, not my flesh.Blessings.

God demands you respond to the invitation of His son given first to the Jews.
We are to be grafted into the olive tree of Israel making one people of two
Then these verses in Pauls' writings would apply to you too.
Then you would be in the body of ChristJuly 7, 2007 at 5:00 am#58496LaurelParticipantFor Nick,
The Sabbath still stand every single one of them. It's part of the 10 commandments. Yes all the rest stand too, otherwise there is nothing to judge us by, and the Messiah died for nothing.July 7, 2007 at 5:03 am#58498LaurelParticipantNo one gets grafted in and stays there unless one is guarding the commands of YHWH. If we don't we'll be cut off and cast into the fire. If we make a mistake and break one, we repent, and we are forgiven. How do we recieve this forgiveness, we pray to our Father through the Son, by the power of His Spirit.

Hi L,
Are you expecting to be judged according to the old law?
But you are not a Jew are you?
Listen to Jesus and you can avoid the judgement of the nations and be raised in the first resurrection.Jn 5
” 21For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man”
Then look at the judgement of the nations in mat 25
” 31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal”
Where are the OT laws??.

Hi L,
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added to you.
First follow him into he death and resurrection.Rom 6
“3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: “
Then let the Spirit help you fulfill the law of love.

You must be joined to Christ.
The gospel is the invitation.

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:July 10, 2007 at 1:36 am#58996chosenoneParticipantGroup: Members

Lets look at this scripture more deeply:Eph.3:3 … for by revelation the secret is made known to me (according as I write before, in brief,
4 by which you who are reading are able to apprehend my understanding in the secret of the Christ,
5 which, in other generations, is not made known to the sons of humanity as it was now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets): in spirit
6 the nations are to be joint enjoyers of an allotment, and a joint body, and joint partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the evangel
7 of which I became the dispenser, in accord with the gratuity of the grace of God, which is granted to me in accord with His powerful operation.See verse 4-5. “in the secret of Christ” (not revealed in the “old”) also… which, in other generations, is not made known to the sons of humanity as it was now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets.
Notice that it was previously not known, now revealed? Same gopel? No, it was added to.
Verse 6. Gentiles fellow heirs, and of the same body. (the body of Christ) Fellow heirs… first to the Jews, now also to the Gentiles.You sure seem stuck on scripture that expands the gospel that you say hasn't changed!
July 10, 2007 at 1:53 am#59003NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
So the secret is revealed to the apsotles?
Why do you not listen to them then and learn of entry into the body of Christ.
Eph 4
” 1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. “
1Cor 12
” 13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”Listen
July 10, 2007 at 3:18 am#59010NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Rom 7
” 4Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”Have you ever known a wedding that was not arranged and agreed to?
Do you say all men are married to Christ and each other without their consent?July 10, 2007 at 3:21 am#59011NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Rom 12
“5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. “
So all men are not in the Body .
Those that are are gifted from above for godly service.
Is that grace evident on the streets of the world?July 10, 2007 at 3:24 am#59012NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
1Cor 10
” 1Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
15I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. “
So even those who have obeyed and entered by the gate into Christ can fall by the wayside.
What of those who refuse to obey?July 10, 2007 at 3:28 am#59014chosenoneParticipantThose were very good scripture you quoted, I wish you could understad them.
Blessings.
