Now its a day for a year?So its not necessary a thousand years for a day, could also be a year for a day. It all depends on God, at the time when the prophecy was given. Sometimes God uses years;70 years. that means 70 years.
In the case of Gabri'els explanation;there was no days mentioned,only weeks.So we work it out using weeks
Not forgetting that the whole fasting and prayers of Daniel is about the one thing ; and that is about the desolation of jerusalem, caused by KING NEB.,not even about the messiah,not even about the rebuilding of Jerusalem.
Also not about the abomination SET UP That is a different prophecy all together. And Gabbri'el,explained it to Daniel not using symbols or mysteries,but weeks,and the angel includes the messiah in his explanation,AND THE DESTRUCTION OF THE 2ND TEMPLE.

That explanation was given to Daniel Living about 550 bc.
He does not know about 33ad or 70 ad? now does he?

The command for Nehemiah to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem was given by Artaxerxes in 457 BC.
[483 – 457BC = 26AD] This means Jesus was born in 4 BC; because his ministry began at 30.“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God
is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)“The time is fulfilled” marks the beginning of last prophetic week of the 70 week prophecy.
69 + 1 = 70 weeks of years (490 years)
Jesus preached 3½ years and then was crucified,
after his resurrection, Jesus' Apostles finish the week-
(3½ years) completing the 490 year seven week prophecy.God bless

EDJ.Why artaxerxes?
The commandment was written in the first year of Cyrus.
Read Ez.1:1.2. It was written by king Cyrus.also 6:1.2.3.
The house was finished in the sixth year reign of Darius.6:15.wakeup.
