Those are your excellent comments on keeping and breaking Commandments. I thank you very much for such good insights from Jewish interpretations on Mits'vah. But will they all applicable to Gentile believers?Peace to you

Not all commandments/directions were for everyone. that is obvious — however the concept of attitude toward God's directions is true across the board. And if ones attitude is right then keeping all of them is no problem.July 31, 2010 at 8:43 pm#207152barleyParticipantQuote (kerwin @ June 26 2010,15:40) Barley, What you state sounds correct to my ears.

Kerwin,Likewise I am thrilled.
It is only from the scriptures that we can keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3.
As we raise up ourselves more and more to the level of life that the scriptures teach us to do, the more we see the unity God has already given to us.
Our unity is demonstrated by our likemindedness on the scripture.
God bless,

Thanks for such good insights brother Martian. But Christianity is away from such arguments by keeing Sunday as Sabbath. It is not possible to keep all Jewish commandments (613) by Gentile believers I think.Peace to you

Actually I would have to put it another way. Our unity will be formed by our mutual relationship with our Father and our Brother Jesus. There are many that know the letter of the law and can quote scripture inside and out that do not know relationship with Jesus any more then they know a dog's hind leg.
However I will add that improper doctrine will hinder someone from entering into the deep relationship required to be of the Bride company.August 6, 2010 at 5:11 pm#207942davidbfunParticipantQuote (gollamudi @ July 16 2010,00:07) Quote (martian @ July 09 2010,00:27) What does commandment, keep and break mean?
Unless you are having some strange ideas it is not too difficult to answer your query brother Martian. Keep and break the commandment depends on how you obey and disobey such commandment.Peace to you

Hello AdamSome people want others to be in a yoke of bondage. Christ wanted us to be free.
The Ten Commandments were ordained by Angels as a guide in the Hebrew trek with God.
God's 5 commandments are in Gen 1:28
Jesus only summed up the law and commandments with the one word “LOVE”. Jesus summary is for us to be PROACTIVE versus REACTIVE and wanted us to seek out those that are lost, down trodden, weary, etc. and give them help. As someone else said it “DO's” versus “DON'Ts”.
A better thread would be to ask: What “commandments” are the Christians to follow??? and make each believer search the Scriptures to determine how we are to live IN CHRIST, and IN THE SPIRIT….and what “guides” are there for us. What were Jesus' “commandments” (not those of others)? And do we follow them?
The Ten Commandments are a “no brainer” in the sense the angels ordained them to guide us into a relationship with God and a relationship among Man….who wouldn't want to follow them? But as everyone has pointed out, Jesus' summary of LOVE covers these.
Jesus' preaching was “Repent and return to God!” Apparently the Jews were in need of repenting because Jesus came to the lost sheep of Israel and wanted them to return to a right relationship with God, his Father. (Analogy-They were the Prodigal son.)
The legalists of Jesus' day (like the question in this post) were trying to burden Jesus in obeying a law instead of following God and His love, when they brought a woman caught in Adultery (where was the man?) and was hoping that he would jump in and throw the first stone….no?
Next, they could get him to do other things that THEY felt was right.
Paul said the law was only a teacher to bring him to Christ. Now that we are IN CHRIST why would you want to leave that place and be under the “law”?
The Professor
PSJesus showed us how to live thru his actions.
What did he do? What are we to do? (Hint: Begins in the heart)

Thank you very much for such thoughtful words from you. Infact I also don't believe that we should follow Ten commandments but only the Seven Laws of Noahide given to Gentiles. Jesus is the Jew he never preached against Judaism,. His religion was only Judaism and he honoured it and practiced as a Jew. Infact he came only to the last tribes of Israel but not for Gentiles like me. This is where I differ with many Christians here in this forum.
Thanks and love to you
