Hi everybody. This is something I picked up a while ago, I find it really interesting and thought I'd share.
In Genesis, Jacob blessess his two grandsons, Mannasseh and Ephraim. He gives them equal inheritance amongst his twelve sons.
but before this; Jacob said to Joseph;
Genesis 48:3] And Jacob said unto Joseph, God almighty appeared unto me a Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
Genesis 48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
Genesis 48:5 And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt, before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine: as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
so Jacob is classing his two grandsons as his own – similar to adopting them into his immediate family
Genesis 48:6 And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
Could this be the twelve tribes as mentioned in Rev 7:4? I'm still not 100% convinced that the twelve tribes are physical Israelites, even though it appears that way, for “All Israel is not Israel.” and Israel were provoked to Jealousy, so it only makes sense that the Gentiles who believed come into the kingdom first….. the gentiles must be the first fruits?
You can read on and see that Israel had his hand crossed over on the two grandsons, and blessed the younger brother (Ephraim) over the older (Mannessah)
And Joseph tried to correct his father, to say you've got it wrong, bless Manessah the older first, and his father refused…
Genesis 48:19 And his father refused, and said I know it, my son, I know it: he also (Manasseh) shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother (Ephraim) shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.(gentiles)
Genesis 48:20 And he blessed them that day saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying God make thee as Ephraim before Manessah.
Genesis 11:21 And Israel said to Joseph, behold, I die; but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.
So, Ephraim the younger (gentiles) shall lead the Manessah the older (Israel)
Matthew 19:30 But many (not all) that are first shall be last; and the last shallbe first.
(The gentiles will be resurrected first)
Romans 9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
The Israelites are not serving the gentiles now, so this is future….In the kingdom they will be taught by the saints
Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
….back to ephraim
Dueteronomy 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
Remember this verse….
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
….When will this prophesy below take place? Israel, the nation has never walked in a straight way?
Jeremiah 31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.[/B]
Can anyone see the spiritual meaning behind the names Mannesseh and Ephraim?
When God mentions Ephraim in some cases, could he be spiritually be talking to the gentiles who follow Christ? His spiritual firstborn? And Mannesseh is Israel, his physical firstborn?

I more inclined to believe that they both represent Israel the oldies son the Moses Israel the new Israel Christ one ,the spiritual Israel his the first born because it is the truth from the beginning ,and so Ephraim is my firstborn (the oldies)
God his spirit ,the spirit is first the carnal is second ,Pierre
