    Spirits that Jesus preached too.

    1Pe 3:19  By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pe 3:20  Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

He preached to the spirits that were disobedient during Noah's time of the buliding of the ark.
*Scripture tells me Jesus was in the heart of the earth three day and three nights .  But where was His spirit Matt. 27:50.
    * Scriptures tells me that for the days and nights His body lay in the tomb but His spirit was somewhere else (He gave up the ghost)

*Scripture also tells me that during and right after those three days and three nights Jesus had “NOT” gone to heaven to meet with Our Father (John 20:17) .

So during those three days and three nights Jesus (His Spirit) was on earth.

What did the Holy Spirit do during those three days and three nights?
Who were these spirits in 1 Peter?  At the time of Noah the only things crawing on the earth were animals, Noah and His Family,  and …the hybirds.

The spirits were either the hybirds or the fallen angels OR the half human spirit of the Nephilims.

Gen 6:7  And the LORD said, I will “DESTROY MAN” whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

God repented from creating man.   It was the daughters of men that tempted the angles.  I will “destroy man..”

Scripture tells us Why Jehovah change His mind from “doing away” with man.
Gen 6:8  But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah.

Gen 6:9  These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

So everyone except Noah were “DESTROYED”, God destroyed everything flesh, spirit and soul of man ( Matt. 10:28).

So we can forget about human spirits.

Remember the only pure humans were Noah & family.

So who were these spirits that Jesus preached to while still on earth “before” He ascended to the Father.

Were they human? Gen. 6:9 says NO!  Were they hybirds?  Again Gen 6:9 says No!  Were they spirits the fallen angels in the same abyss that Satan will be in?  I believe they were.

Scripture again tells me He preached to Either the hybirds (Nephilim) or He preached to the spirits (Fallen Angels) or half humans(?).

These fallen angels (spirits/demons) were cast DOWN to hell.  To be reserved unto judgement.
So why would Jesus preached to angels who are doomed.

    2Pe 2:4  For if God spared not angels when they sinned, but cast them down to hell, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
    2Pe 2:5  and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;

We know that afterward that the women were instructed to cover their head.  This would be for only one reason so other Angels would not fall.

When the fallen angels came into the daughters of men the temptation was “TOO GREAT”.  If other angels would be tempted; but are not Because of the covering over the women's head.  Just how much at fault were the the angels who fell.

If angels today could not controll themselves WITHOUT  the covering over the womens head.  Then how could the fallen angels be guilty when the women did not have their heads covered.  Sort of like you and I We had no say so about the flesh we are in.

I'm saying that the angels that fell were at a disavantage compared to the angels now.  If the women's head were covered would they have fallen?  Remember God is no respecter of persons.

All of the angels were tempted with the same temptation from Satan.  These angels have no excuse. But what about the angels during Noah's time?  They should have the same chance as the Angels of today.

What did Jesus preach?  I don't know?  Has the Lord shown you?

Could it be ? ? :  Out of the bible their was a personal relationship with the (heavenly) angels first. As it has been stated in the above statement. A form of rules and regulations for them first , then creation, then man. I believe that Jesus preached order in all creation. It is our responsibility to inquire about the order in which we shall be a part of when we reach maturity. Jesus finished the course here and now is finishing it in heaven.
(17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.)(

21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.

The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

21:18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

    Hi Krench:

My understanding is that Jesus preached to the spirits in prison by the Holy Spirit during his ministry on earth.  After he died, He was dead, and therefore, He could not preaching during that time.

The times of Noah are mentioned in 1 Peter 3:20 to show that God patiently waited for the people to repent while Noah was building the Ark, just as he is patiently awaiting for people to repent during our time, but just as judgment came upon the people who did not repent during Noah's time, so judgment will come upon those in our time.

He then compares the saving of a few that is eight people being saved by the Ark to those being saved by being baptized into the body of Christ. (1 Pe 3:31)

Also, Genesis 6:4 states: “There were giants in the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became MIGHTY MEN which were of old, MEN of renown.

This verse says that the giants or Nephilm were MEN.  If angels cohabitated with human women, it would seem to me that the offspring would be something other than men.

Therefore I believe as the study tool JFB commentary at crosswalk.com states, THE SONS OF GOD SAW THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN-By the former is meant, the family of Seth, who were professedly religious. by the latter the desendants of the apostate Cain.  Mixed marriages between parties of opposite principles and practice were necessarily sources of extensive corruption.  The women. religious themselves, would as wives and mothers exert an influence fatal to the existence of religion in their household, and consequently, the people of that latter age sank to the lowest depravity”.

Giants(Nephilim)-JFB commentary states: “The term in Hebrew implies not so much the idea of great stature as of reckless ferocity, impious and daring characters, who spread devestation and carnage far and wide”.

What does it mean when it says he was “quickened by the spirit”? This mean he lived as a spirit without a body and entered a spirit world? Or does it refer to his body being reanimated?

The JW's, I think, interpret it as Jesus being given a completely new spirit body and his old body disappears.

    Hi MorningStar:

Jesus was dead, and so he was “quickened (given life) by the Spirit”.  Romans 1:4 about Jesus: “And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:”.

When Jesus appeared to the disciples, He had the same body that had been crucified minus the blood that he had shed.  “Then saith he (Jesus) to Thomas, 'reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side:…”. (John 20:27)  We know that the “life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11), and so, it was the spirit of holiness that gave him life.  He had no blood.

    God Bless
