    Hi W,
If you came to us and told us that from now on you were going to be totally united with your finger you would get some bored yawns. Of course you are and that is how God relates to His finger.
But not how he relates to His Son.

They have real unity because they are two beings working together as one.

    NH

Your use of term “the finger of God” is not what the writer intended in using the word.

    First
The word is only found once interpreted in scripture “finger of God”. So to take the scripture and build a doctrine or put your whole understanding of the Spirit of God on that one term is not even good hermeneutics let alone Good Christology.

    Second
The Greek word for finger is daktulos which means “finger” and this word is only found 8 times in the whole new testament and in every other case is interpreted as a literal finger.

    Luke 11:20
But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

    Matt 12:28
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Mathew used the word “pneuma” and of course we know what that means.

Almost in every case this word pneuma was used it was interpreted as “Spirit of Christ, Spirit, Spirit of God, Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of truth, but never “finger”.

Lukes use of the word finger is a quantitative statement and not qualitative.

    Example
If I go to use a laptop key pad, all I need to do is touch it with my finger and move the curser.

If I want to type a message, now I use 10 fingers.

If I want to take the lap top with me, then I pick it up with my hand and arm and carry it.

If I want to Break it, then I may jump up and down on it with my whole body.

We know that the Spirit of God can be poured out by measure.
(David this is one for you, and I agree this is not personal)

This is why we are filled with the Spirit and need to continually be filled with the Spirit.

But the measure of Spirit that I have in me or you have in you is not the same measure that is used in the creating of the universe.

Heres some examples of the quantitative aspect of the Spirit.

    Jn 3:34
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

    Eze 3:14
So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

    Eze 8:3
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where [was] the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

    Exd 31:18
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

    Deut 11:2
And know ye this day: for not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,

    Isa 45:12
I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, [even] my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

    Gen 1:
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The qualitative aspect of the Spirit Never changes. The Spirit is one with God and is always Holy, pure, true, and all the attributes of God.

    Conclusion

The Spirit of God is more than just his finger.

The Spirit of God can be his hand, his arm and all that he is.

For God and his Spirit are One.

    Hi W,
You get what Jesus was saying though.
God and His Spirit are one.
Christ worked by the Spirit of God and not in his own powers.
Christ, the son of God, was anointed by the Spirit and power of God.

Psa 119:139 My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

The zeal preforms the promise to men; even by only by election is power given,
Making sure to make our election sure

Famine and thirst with the lake of hearing Gods words; ( HOSEA) zeal diminished, no Holy Ghost power found within or over Man.

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The *zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isa 37:32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the *zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

Isa 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with *zeal as a cloke.

Isa 63:15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where [is] thy *zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

Eze 5:13 Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken [it] in my *zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.

The word is only found once interpreted in scripture “finger of God”. So to take the scripture and build a doctrine or put your whole understanding of the Spirit of God on that one term is not even good hermeneutics let alone Good Christology.

Upon further research, you may find that his “hand” is also used in the same sense.

    So we have these scriptures:
    MATTHEW 12:28
“But if it is by means of God’s spirit that I expel the demons, the kingdom of God has really overtaken YOU.”
    LUKE 11:20
“But if it is by means of God’s finger I expel the demons, the kingdom of God has really overtaken YOU.”

But we also have a scripture like this:

    PSALM 8:3
“When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, The moon and the stars that you have prepared,”

It's understandable that fingers or hands are how we get things done. Whereas humans use hands and fingers, God uses his spirit. Hence, the illustration fits.

    PSALM 19:1
“The heavens are declaring the glory of God; And of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.”

Over and over it's made clear that Jesus is the son “of” God.

If Jesus were God almighty, then why did the Greek writers not clarify, explain, and illustrate that belief? No other teaching would have required such explanation. We're speaking about who God is and who God's son is. This is important.

Yet, what do we see over and over and over again?

    LUKE 1:32
“This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High.” (How did the angel announcing his birth refer to him? Compare Ps 83:18, where it says that Jehovah alone is the Most High.)
    LUKE 1:34
“For that reason also what is born will be called holy, God’s Son.”

    MATTHEW 3:17
“Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”” (Who does Jehovah God’s testimony tell us Jesus is?)

    JOHN 1:34
“And I have seen [it], and I have borne witness that this one is the Son of God.””
(What did John the Baptist bear witness to regarding Jesus?)

    JOHN 1:49
“Nathańael answered him: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are King of Israel.”” (How did Nathanael identify Jesus?)

    MATTHEW 16:16
“In answer Simon Peter said: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.””
(Jesus himself asked who they thought he was. With this response of Peter, Jesus pronounced him happy, because his Father had revealed this to him.)

    JOHN 11:27
“She [Martha] said to him: “Yes, Lord; I have believed that you are the Christ the Son of God.”” (What did Martha believe about Jesus?)

    JOHN 20:31
“But these have been written down that YOU may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God.” (Why did John write what he did? What did he want us to believe?)

    JOHN 1:34
“I have borne witness that this one is the Son of God.” (Did John bear witness that Jesus was God Almighty, or God’s Son?)

    1 JOHN 4:15
“Whoever makes the confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God . . .” (According to John, if we are to remain in union with God, what must confess?)

    1 JOHN 5:5
“Who is the one that conquers the world but he who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?” (According to John, what must we have faith in–that Jesus is God, or the “Son of” God?)
(It seems that John bore witness that Jesus was the “Son of” God, that he wrote what he did so that we would believe that Jesus was the “Son of” God, telling us to have faith that Jesus is the “Son of” God, and to confess that Jesus is the “Son of” God.)

    ACTS 9:20
“he [Peter] began to preach Jesus, that this One is the Son of God.” (What did the apostle Peter preach about Jesus?)

    MARK 1:24
“What have we to do with you, Jesus you Nazarené? Did you come to destroy us? I know exactly who you are, the Holy One of God.” (The demons certainly knew “exactly” who Jesus was: the Holy One “of” God, and hence, not God Almighty himself.)
    MATTHEW 8:29
“What have we to do with you, Son of God?”
    MARK 3:11
“Even the unclean spirits, whenever they would behold him, would prostrate themselves before him and cry out, saying: “You are the Son of God.”“
    LUKE 4:41
“Demons also would come out of many, crying out and saying: “You are the Son of God.”

    JOHN 5:18
“On this account, indeed, the Jews began seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath but he was also CALLING GOD HIS OWN FATHER, making himself equal to God.” (He was not saying that he was equal to God, but rather “he was also calling God his own Father,” and in the minds of the Jews, this was tantamount to making himself equal with God.*****************)
    MATTHEW 26:63
“So the high priest said to him: “By the living God I put you under oath to tell us whether you are the Christ the Son of God!”“ (What did the chief priest charge Jesus as saying he was? Surely if there was indication that he was claiming to be God or those around him believed this, then that accusation would have been made. These were the ones who were accusing them of anything they could, making stuff up. Surely if he was claiming to be God himself, they would have capitalized on this.)
    LUKE 22:70
“Are you, therefore, the Son of God?”
    MATTHEW 27:43
“let Him [God] now rescue him if He wants him, for he said, ‘I am God’s Son.’”
    JOHN 19:7
“The Jews answered him: “We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself God’s son.”” (What did the Jews tell Pilate Jesus had made himself? If Jesus was claiming to be God, surely they who wanted him done away with would have charged him with this.)
    MARK 14:61,62
“Again the high priest began to question him and said to him: “Are you the Christ the Son of the Blessed One?” Then Jesus said: “I am.” (So they were charging him with saying he was the “Son of” the God, and Jesus himself said: “I am.”)

    JOHN 10:36
“do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?” (Who did Jesus himself say he was?)

    MATTHEW 14:33
“Then those in the boat did obeisance to him, saying: “You are really God’s Son.””
(Miraculously walking on water and calming the winds moved his disciples to what conclusion?)

    MATTHEW 27:40
“If you are a son of God, come down off the torture stake!” (How did those mocking him while he was dying refer to him?)

    MATTHEW 27:54
“when they saw the earthquake and the things happening, grew very much afraid, saying: “Certainly this was God’s Son.”“ (What conclusion did the army officer there at Jesus death reach?)
    MARK 15:39
“Now, when the army officer that was standing by with him in view saw he had expired under these circumstances, he said: “Certainly this man was God’s Son.””

    ROMANS 1:4
“but who with power was declared God’s Son.” (What was Jesus declared to be?)

So we have an angel, demons, Jehovah, Jesus, John the Baptist, Nathanael, Peter, Martha, John, Paul, mockers of Jesus, an army officer who saw Jesus die, the Jews, all making very plain what they believed Jesus to be, the “Son of” God, or “God’s Son,” and hence, not God, but someone related to God, the “Son of” God.

    A CHILD IS BORN
    Given from God.
The Son Seed of a King given by promise to fulfill
Tested and tried in flesh; as a worthy Kings Son is for seen to inherit his father’s throne
His Father would not that a man should sit on his throne
Till the day he came declared by John a definite
The words heard this is my son
That Day the Holy Ghost descended upon Christ, zeal to perform made a start
The time was now that he sat on his father’s throne, prince of peace to king of kings
Glorified once and again, glorified back to what he was in the beginning
Son of David given to Son Of God in one life preformed by God

No trinitarian denys the Sonship of Jesus. You know this!

So you can come down off your high horse and stop making these kind of foolish accusations.

Do you find this being honest?

Dosnt your heart pric you for making false accusations which is breaking a commandment of God? ???

I realize that trinitarians don't deny the sonship of Jesus.
I'm simply pointing out what an angel, demons, Jehovah, Jesus, John the Baptist, Nathanael, Peter, Martha, John, Paul, mockers of Jesus, an army officer who saw Jesus die, and the Jews, all believed Jesus to be: The son of God.

“A” is related to “B” in such and such a way.
    “A” is “B”

Logic tells us that one of these statements must be wrong.
But in this instance, it's like we're using “B” as a name.

    Let's try a title:

    1.Nick is a Teacher's son.
    2. Nick is a Teacher

These statements can both be correct, but does that mean that Nick is the “teacher” in statement 1?

    Hi Charity.
While much of what you say sounds pretty, much like Catholicism being sung in Latin, it is not extraordinarily clear. So I often don't respond to things that you say. Don't take this as me ignoring you. Take it as me not knowing what you're saying.

    Romans 1:8
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

    1 Corinthians 1:4
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

    1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    JESUS' EQUALITY WITH GOD
