Hi not3,
God is God.
Mercy triumphs over judgement.
If He did not change His mind about the fate of man He would not have sent the Christ.
But when His mind is set as with the role of Christ
men should listen.January 14, 2008 at 10:03 pm#78623TowshabParticipantQuote (Not3in1 @ Jan. 14 2008,15:50) That's another thing – It does appear that God “changes his mind” on occassion. He was grieved that he had made man and then wiped them all out in the flood. He decided to not wipe out the whole city of Sodem and saved Lot due to the begging of Abe, but he originally was going to wipe out everyone…..and the list goes on.
Yes, it appears He did but it typically happened when someone pleaded a cause. Who was pleading for Jesus? Was someone saying “we don't want the Messiah you spoke of in Tanakh, we want you to reproduce with a virgin so we can have a different Messiah”?January 14, 2008 at 10:19 pm#78624NickHassanParticipantHi tow,

Nick,You are pleading your cause using the GT as your reference. It was easy to make such ambigous statements about all of this secrecy stuff when the answers were not there.
Is this the Illuminati?
January 14, 2008 at 10:29 pm#78627NickHassanParticipantHi tow,
You plead the messiah was sprung on men?
Then you had better read the NT and find out more.January 14, 2008 at 10:32 pm#78628Son of LightParticipantQuote (Not3in1 @ Jan. 15 2008,08:50) That's another thing – It does appear that God “changes his mind” on occassion. That wasn't the Most High. That was the angel who gave the Law.

Again, please show me how he fit the role of the King Messiah found in Tanakh. No more excuses Nick.January 14, 2008 at 10:56 pm#78636NickHassanParticipantHi Tow,

Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
January 15, 2008 at 12:40 am#78655TowshabParticipantNo precise hour or day, no but he did make several statements about coming back during the lifetime of his disciples.
January 15, 2008 at 12:41 am#78656NickHassanParticipantHi ACC,
That leaves a lot of room for the era, the decade, the month and the week.January 15, 2008 at 12:46 am#78657TowshabParticipantMat 24:33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
Who is “you”?
Mat 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?”

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Christ knew not the hour because only the Father knows. He was telling the disciples as if it could happen at any moment -in this instance, during their lifetime; and if it didn't happen during their lifetime – which it didn't, He knew the disciples would pass along his teachings to future brethren in Christ.January 15, 2008 at 12:58 am#78661TowshabParticipantIndeed Nick,
1Th 1:1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.
Even Paul was telling them they would all see Jesus return.

A statement made in retrospect of failed prophecy.January 15, 2008 at 1:01 am#78663NickHassanParticipantHi Tow,
Nothing to do with any imminent return though 7000 years is nothing.
All in Christ are also one with God.
That is the plan of God to unite all men in Christ with Him. - AuthorPosts
