ParticipantHi Tow,
No there are no proofs for you.
But it shows the problems lack of faith in Christ leads to.January 12, 2008 at 12:22 am#78059Towshab
ParticipantWhat problems? I know of none in my life. Well, none related to lack of belief in Jesus. I could lose a few pounds, exercise more, etc. but that has nothing to do with Jesus.

ParticipantHi tow,
The Pharisees said they were disciples of Moses.
They said God spoke to Moses.
But you do not believe that.January 12, 2008 at 12:28 am#78064Towshab
ParticipantSince when? Hey, now you are defining what I do and don't believe. Good thing you are not a psychic, you'd go out of business.

ParticipantHi tow,
Well you told us about some parlour tricks .
You can't say you believe him
then call him a liar.January 12, 2008 at 2:28 am#78086Towshab
ParticipantNick,
You have no answers. The best you can do is twist. How deluded you are. Your thread is weakening every second.

ParticipantHi Tow,
Well do you believe in Moses or is he a liar and one who does magic tricks?January 12, 2008 at 2:42 am#78095Towshab
ParticipantI believe in Moses. I also believe that the supposed plagues were natural events that were then written up as “miracles”. No lying involved, just people who were easily impressed.

ParticipantHi Tow,
So Moses was not told by God to warn Pharaoh about these impending events either?
And the plagues would have to have been lied about too?
Was Moses moving in the divine power of prophecy?January 12, 2008 at 5:45 am#78125Stu

The problem with you not believing in 'christ' is that it is much harder for them to use it as a hammer to beat you over the head with.Stuart

ParticipantHi Stu,
But just what does he believe in ?January 12, 2008 at 6:17 am#78140Stu
ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 12 2008,16:56) Hi Stu,
But just what does he believe in ?
Maybe he is a human being, with all the wonderful qualities and frailties that go with that identity. Perhaps he bleeds and loves just like you, maybe he has developed a way of getting along with others in the world as all have to, and maybe he has experienced but then chosen not to base every detail of his existence on the literal reading of a single set of books of very dodgy provenance, but takes from them what is useful for him, as he does from other sources too. Perhaps he enjoys a good challlenge and sees the opportunity to challenge others, for their own growth as much as the pure challenge.Perhaps he believes that people should not go into christian faith as blindly and ignorantly as many seem to.
What else could you read between his lines?

That answer suffices.

the basis of your faith
is you.January 13, 2008 at 6:36 am#78284Stu

Nick that is another original opinion you have shared. Do you need a cup of tea and a sit down away from the computer for a while? {/condescention}Stuart

ParticipantHi Stu,
You have a foundation of your so called understanding.
You have admitted it is a very unstable base.
Such is sand.Since you have nothing useful to build on to offer
then perhaps you too should consider the rock of scripture.
Faith in God and His sacred Word is everlastingly sound and secure.January 13, 2008 at 10:13 am#78295Stu

Tell me how that is different than you, or anyone. One day YOU decided to accept Jesus, one day YOU decided that the bible was 100% true. One day YOU chose to believe Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. where not the way to G-d but that Christianity was.So in the end, YOU are the basis of your faith too.

ParticipantHi Stu,
Build on the Rock
Matthew 7:24-28
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” 28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,January 13, 2008 at 1:22 pm#78301Towshab

You have a foundation of your so called understanding. And how this is different from you? You have placed your faith in what you understand, which is different from WJ and Is 1:18. Somebody here is not understanding correctly.
Quote You have admitted it is a very unstable base.

Your faith you seem to have in the written word of men is blatant idolatry. - AuthorPosts
