    Hi t8,

    Even demons believe.

Unless you repent you will all likewise perish

The Lord God of Israel owes us no favours but demands that we listen.

What really matters is that God can be trusted to honour his part of the gospel agreement.

If we accept the message and repent and seek baptism of water and the Spirit then we will have our feet in the unshakeable kingdom

True Nick. But we also need to heed this. The evidence of our new birth is our love for one another because God is love. If we do not love, we cannot know God.

    1 John 4:8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

We read elsewhere that we are but a clanging gong if we do not have love.

    1 Corinthians 13:1
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

The new birth is essential, but if we have not love, then we cannot be born from above. True faith in God is not merely an exercise in understanding the truth. It requires a new heart from which love for God and mankind ensues.

    Hi t8,

    Yes love towards the brothers.

    Speaking the truth in love.

But making the truth palatable to those who find it distasteful?

That is true. Love for one and another and even to love our enemies as the Lord Jesus instructed.  Love has fruit that we can all see.

We are judged by our fruit as that shows the root. Good fruit means a good tree.
