So in a sense you are right because he did say many things about his return as one in the Spirit with his God.
In Jn 14 -17 he spoke repeatedly of the coming back of himself and his Father in that Spirit so his brothers were not left alone and forsaken that they may all be one.

Whenever two or three are gathered in his name he would be amongst them.

But both he and his Father would BE in heaven at that time too.
Though his Father God is in us to will and to do we pray to his Father God in heaven.

God manifests through His Spirit and the Spirit wrote the books through men.
