What did Apostle Paul mean when he said that believers in Jesus are new creations
Did he mean to say that we are refurbished sinners, or something else
If we really are new, why do we still sin

    Hi Guncher,

Shaool (The Apostle Paul) means that we are renewed in the spirit of our mind. (See Eph.4:23 and Rom.12:2)

    God bless

Yes we have a new spirit and we have it eternally, unless our name is removed from the Book of Life.
In the meantime, we have to contend with our body of death which wages war against the spirit.
When the body is discarded, we will be given a perfect body which will perfectly match the spirit we have.
We will then be at peace and will be perfect even as he is perfect.

In the meantime, we have a covenant with God when we sin. Paul even goes as far as to say that when we don't want to sin, but we do sin, then it is the flesh that sins and not us.

Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

This is, (just) one of the most misunderstood subjects because some can't wrap their mind around being born again.

Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

These are two great scripture that gives an insight to being a new creation.
The FIRST Adam, and FIRST MAN was Adam of Gen. and the LAST Adam, and SECOND man is Jesus.

Being born again is coming out of Adam's nature and baptized into Jesus nature, (through the act of being born again). The first creation is in Adam, the new creation is in Jesus.

Because Jesus is the LAST Adam and He is the SECOND MAN, we become new creations in Jesus.
Our roots were in Adam, now they are in Jesus.
It is a new nature. While we have a new nature, we still have an UN-renewed mind and the body that is carnal.

Our spirits are the root of us and when we share Adam's nature we draw from the fallen nature he put us all in.
When we are in Jesus our spirits are rooted in Him and the Word and draw life into our lives.
The things I used to do and enjoy I no longer want to do them.

Because I am in Him and the true nature of me now is of God, therefore I love the things of God when before I did not.
As long as I am in the flesh I will have a battle within me, for righteousness fights against sin and sin again righteousness.
Not until I get to heaven will I be perfected and no longer sin.

    Richtuner.

It is true what you are saying,we are new in our minds, following the spirit of CHRIST.

We are not the old person anymore,we are a new creature.
We are born again in our mind, but we will be born again physically also when we are resurrected.Born out of the spirit,we will be spirit,no more flesh.

3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Born of water=coming out of the womb we are flesh.
Born of the spirit=we are spirit, not flesh anymore.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Born of the flesh(water) = we are flesh.
Born of the spirit=we are spirit, like the wind.

We will be made spirit at the resurrection.

    Hi ,
Jesus Christ is the firstborn of the new creation.
All in the new creation are led by the Spirit of God[rom8]
As the influence of the world is washed out of men all become one.

    Jn 17.
    21
“That all may be one, as you Father are in me and I in You I pray that they may be one in us”

    Nick.

Take note: Jesus mind has always been the same.
He has not experienced the renewing of the mind.
He was the first resurrected;first born spirit.

Since we started of the world; in Christ we will experience the renewing of the mind. The old sinfull concept of thinking is dead. We are a new person. Hopefully to stay that way to the end of our life.

When we are changed;we will be of the one, and same Spirit of God and Jesus. Of one wavelength.

    Nick.

    That is just your opinion.
Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. He was never of the world.
    Agree?

    Hi,
    Rom 8
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

    Hi WU,
    You say
“Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. “

    Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

    One small and vital error

    You left out CHRIST

    Jesus was conceived and born
but his ANOINTING is from eternity

Yours is in contadiction to scriptures.
