AndrewAd,
Kerwin,do you claim to be Jewish or maybe just “messianic”? If so then do you adhere to the Saturday sabbath and keeping the Jewish feasts? are these required to be saved? and also physical circumcision? is this a must to be saved too?
There are so many wacky groups out here nowadays and I’m wondering if you’ve actually succumbed to all this non-Christian nonsense.
The Sabbath was made for the Hebrew people. I cannot say whether Paul kept it or not but I can say he sanctified himself to prove he was a Law observing Jew and keeping the Sabbath is what a Law observing Jew does. I though am a Gentile and my people were not Sabbath to keep. We only are given to keep the righteousness of the Law and so reveal that our heart is circumcised.
Those that call themselves Christians today follow Anti-Christian teachings.
Why are so many today teaching those things that Paul was falsely accused of teaching and was he strove to prove he was not teaching by instead providing evidence he still adhered to the Law?
It was the government of the Roman Empire that decreed Christians and Jews were separate religion and not God. Why do Christians today still obey that decree?

But nowhere is it advised for gentile converts to reject Christ and become Jews.
I have not claimed it has as the false brethren of that time were teaching Gentiles they must become Jews to be saved and even the Jews do not teach that today.
My point is that is also wrong to teach Jews they must become Gentiles in order to be saved.
All those that follow the one true God are of one religion though heresy abounds. In the end the good fish will be saved and the bad fish will be discarded.

Neither Jew nor gentile is relevant any longer for those in Christ.
Why would you try to divide Christ?

God can give you the robe of righteousness of the Son.
Our own righteousness is as filthy rags
June 15, 2015 at 1:46 pm#799605NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The sabbath was made for man.
Can you pick and choose what aspect of the Law you wish to submit to when you join the Jewish religion?

But somewhere it is written for you that gentile christians should become Jews and that this will please God?
June 16, 2015 at 9:43 am#799639NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
If you know Christ what advantage is there in becoming a Jew?
Belt and suspenders?
June 16, 2015 at 10:02 am#799643kerwinParticipantNick,
Acts 18 does not say what you find there.
The Jewish converts had to be shown that the NT was in accord with the OT and no offense was given lest they be frightened off.
Paul became as a Jew to convert Jews.
Paul did not become Jew he was Jew by heritage and country.
It is Act 21 that speaks of how Paul proved himself innocent of the charges against him by showed he also walked orderly and kept the Law. (Acts 21:24) The charges are in verse 21 and the fact that it is Jewish believers that are called zealous for the Law is in verse 20.

Hi KW,

I do not seek to become a Jew by heritage or country but by religion. There are many today that call themselves Jews but are no longer Jews by religion though Abraham is their ancestor. I follow the religion of Abraham and Mosses by faith though I am not a descendant of either. There is but one God and therefore only one religion. Do not confuse the religious customs of one people with those of another.
Do not preach that a Jew must become a Gentile or that a Gentile must become a Jew in order to be saved but preach that each much adhere to the righteousness of the Law in order to be circumcised of the heart.
June 16, 2015 at 10:29 am#799649kerwinParticipantNick,
Is your confession that your religion is not the same as Issiah’s or Jeremiah’s?
June 16, 2015 at 10:39 am#799657NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
So you have adopted a religion.
Scripture never advised you to do this.
Why not follow Christ?

But somewhere it is written for you that gentile christians should become Jews and that this will please God?Romans 2:28-29
“For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.Philippians 3:3
“for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,”Romans 9:6-8
But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; 7nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.” That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.…July 5, 2015 at 1:36 pm#800726ProclaimerParticipantJuly 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm#800732kerwinParticipantt8,

Where does scripture advise those who follow Christ to become Jews?
November 20, 2015 at 8:18 pm#805053kerwinParticipantNick,
In regards to their religion true Christians are true Jews.
November 20, 2015 at 8:50 pm#805054NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
So you say.
November 21, 2015 at 10:22 am#805059kerwinParticipantNick,
Why do you doubt?
Do you doubt Abraham is a Christian who gloried that the time of the Christ with come; even as he lived his mortality?

Abraham is a Christian??
November 21, 2015 at 5:45 pm#805078942767ParticipantHi BD:
This is what God told Abraham:
Genesis 17:
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Genesis 21:
21 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
My comments:
God did bless Ishmael, but he said that in Isaac Abraham’s seed would be called. Isaac is a type of Christ. The gospel is preached to all of humanity. We are all called into a relationship with God through His uniquely begotten Son and His Christ. In the OT, Isaac had two sons, Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel and Esau. It is from the Nation of Israel that Jesus came to us.
Love in Christ,
