Quote (malcolm ferris @ April 27 2006,03:18) Yes and Paul was also aware that after his death men were going to rise up from amongst the brethren to draw away disciples to themselves. He tells us that Satan masquerades as an angel of ligth so it is little surprise if his ministers do the same. Aslo Jesus warned us they would be many not few.
My how the that double edge sword cuts deep. It's all between you and your God! OK!

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. There is not a single commandment or law that Jesus did away with that I am aware of, if anything he magnified those that were already in existence.
So that instead of thou shalt not kill, he says don't get angry with your brother without a cause…I TIMOTHY 1:8-10
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; The Law is good in that it serves to convict and condemn transgressors.
Because of the weakness of human flesh and its impossibility to conform to the Law due to the sin nature in the flesh it served only to condemn us all.HEBREWS 7:18
For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.So the Law still stands and it does so to convict sinners of sin. Yet in itself it is not sufficient to save us. For none of us are able in our selves to keep the Law being by nature contrary to the Law.
ROMANS 8:2-4
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. So Christ overcame and paid the penalty of sin for us, became our sin bearer.
That we might have imputed upon us his righteousness by faith in the Word of God.
This is not to say that we now do not have a weak human nature that is subject to sin, but now through the forgiveness of sins by Jesus Christ, though we might fail often, yet God looks upon the heart (expecting to see a life lived out at least in some measure according to what lays in the heart)April 28, 2006 at 4:50 am#13078NickHassanParticipantHi Malcolm,
Were you ever, or are you now, under the Law?April 28, 2006 at 5:18 am#13079malcolm ferrisParticipantWhat was the question? Was I ever in sin?
No law, no transgression…April 28, 2006 at 5:34 am#13080NickHassanParticipantHi Malcolm,
But all have sinned, and those outside the law who sin perish without the Law. [Rom 2.12,.Rom 3.23]These things do not apply to those like yourself who have entered the gate but we use these forums to spread the gospel. Many think as gentiles they were under the law and are yet to grasp their urgent need to be saved through Christ.
April 28, 2006 at 5:53 am#13081malcolm ferrisParticipantDid I say that?
I was merely pointing out the fact that the Law still is Truth, thou shalt not kill – is still so.
The law is for those that Paul mentioned in I TIMOTHY 1:8-10.
Now if any would put himself under the Law of a commandment that cannot make perfect when there is a better one that does, I pity that one.October 1, 2006 at 7:28 pm#29786NickHassanParticipanttopical
