Why is it that during old testament time, men are allowed to marry more than one women. It is I think the basis why Muslims now are still allowed to do so.
Why now, if you marry twice its already unlawful? Polygamy.
Is the bible contradicting its law?

Hi:The ideal marriage is that between one husband and one wife, but however, God does not prohibit man from having more than one wife.
Quote Mark 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. God made one wife for Adam, and that is the model marriage.
There are laws of society that we also must be obey if we are citizens of that society, and so, polygamy may be against the law in our society.
But who in his right mind would want more than one wife? It is difficult enough to keep one happy. Just look at the jealosy between Jacob's wives in the bible for example.
God Bless
