Back to subject, so it appears that magic is evil by biblical decree yet when Biblical prophets or priests perform what would be called magic, if anyone else performed such, (curses, divination, potions, etc.) it isn't magic, but divine miracle, inspiration or judgement.
So if Elisha curses children it is ok, but for someone else it is foul satanic work.
If a Hebrew priest casts lots it is holy, but if I throw I-Ching sticks it is sin.
Daniel can scry with a silver cup, but looking into a crystal ball is demonic.
Hebrew priests can make potions and give them to women to test their fidelity and curse them if they cheat, yet going to an old wise woman for a potion is witchcraft.
Daniel can be master of magicians, but we can not be magicians at all.Do I have it right?
The three wisemen must have received a waiver.

The maji showed the Jews that their attention to heavenly signs was lacking.
Yes it comes down to having authority to use powers.
Outside of divine authority it is occultic.Matthew 12:27

That is pretty typical of the hypocricy of religious leaders. One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. Harry Potter bad, Jesus walking on water good.Stuart

Hi Stu,
So you agree Jesus walked on water?
It must be annoying that he proved all of science to be faulty.April 12, 2008 at 10:21 am#86893StuParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ April 12 2008,17:09) Quote (Stu @ April 11 2008,22:47) Quote (Nick Hassan @ April 11 2008,06:23) Hi cato,

Paul was instrumental in dictating christianity for others yet only mentions one magic trick of Jesus, his alleged walking again after he had been supposedly judicially executed. Paul did not have (or did not articulate) a faith in other miracles/magic, why do you?Stuart
