I just resently lost my wife to cancer. She was a christian woman. Will we know our love ones in heaven and will they be the same except more beautiful. I miss her so much and I hope to see her again when God calls me home.

    Absolutely.
We will recognise our loved ones in Heaven. Infact they will still be our closest aqaintances and will help you when you go there.

It may be hard to explain, but in heaven you will actually recognise everyone.
Here on earth, it can take along time to know someone, but in Heaven the light of God shows everyone as they truly are. You can recognise people instantly because they are shining their light and are hiding nothing. You can see who they really are. On earth this depth of understanding a person can take years.

On the Mount of Transfiguration, the disciples knew that they had seen Moses and Elijah. Both men were in heavenly glory.

I highly recommend a book called "The Final Quest", written by Rick Joyner.

My condolences. As a death is an occasion for sadness, it is one for joy: your loved one is no longer suffering from a painful disease but is in the joyous presence of the Lord.

    Actually….

She is not in heaven, at least not yet. The dead are sleeping, in a state of no consciousness. When the Lord Jesus returns the dead in Christ will be resurrected (which includes your wife). I suggest reading "Are the Dead Alive Now?" by Victor Paul Wierwille.

So it is only a matter of time. :)

    To MrBob,

This is an interesting subject and I have decided to start a new post relating to your post. I would be happy to discover the truth regarding this matter and how Matthew 27:51-53 fits into this picture.

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.
52 The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
53 They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

thankyou for saying so debra. I think I took you to the wrong thread though. T8 said he would start one on Mat 27:51-53, I think. I have no idea where this is. But an easy way to find it would be to search the word “curtain,” as it's not a word used often on this forum. There is a search button on the top right hand corner. Make sure you search “all open threads.” Actually, I'll try to find that thread right now.
But the thread I took you to, the one one “does any man ever go to heaven” seems to be an interesting one too. I was shocked to learn that so many on here don't believe anyone goes to heaven, ever, under any circumstances.
Above, I'm confused by T8's words, because I remember him being one who didn't believe this. Anyway, I'll go try to find your thread.

I don't know what to say Debra. I only found only 5 threads that even have the word “curtain” in them, and none of them were started by T8 or seem to be the discussion he is speaking of. He could have started a thread on that scripture and then never quoted it I guess. I don't know.
