Hi david,
And then
Lk11
52Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.53And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
54Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

You said in another thread.“We must believe in something simply because it is written? I believe in the bible BECAUSE what is written makes sense, NOT because I am an ignorant fool who will believe in something just because someone else confesses the bible is the Word of a god. I have found through my life, through thinking, observing and learning that the bible is true, that the words are truth and life. “
Yes the bible is orderly and logical though we can never understand it all.
If reason is our sole judge of truth have we not made a god of our reason?February 16, 2009 at 5:56 pm#121744NickHassanParticipantHi TT,
You said in another thread.
“It is unfortunate that Christians do not study the art of correct thinking otherwise called “logic”.”Surely logic is of weak human 'wisdom”?
Where are the wise of this world in God's view?February 16, 2009 at 6:08 pm#121745NickHassanParticipantHi TT,
Would you hang your hat on logic if it led to conclusions such as this?“Therefore, Malachi 3:6 is not really true.”
Jesus said “thy word is truth” jn17

Logic does not compare for us with divine wisdom as is written.Lk11
49Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:1 Corinthians 2
1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
The men on Mars Hill in Acts 17 resisted the Word of God because they held their 'wisdom' to be higher.

Nick responds –
Hi S,
Logic does not compare for us with divine wisdom as is written. So now Nick knows better than Paul, Peter, and the word
and he can't give honor to what is written if he is attempting to prove something else. But we are not surprised are we! Manipulate away.

February 17, 2009 at 5:59 am#121825davidParticipantQuote Hi S,
Logic does not compare for us with divine wisdom as is written.Where divine wisdom and so called logic do not agree, of course there is no comparison.
But is divine wisdom logical, or illogical?
And, if the Bible doesn't say: 1+1=2, how can we know this is true?
As it turns out, we can use logic to determine truth. But of course, where people claim something is logic and it disagrees with God's thoughts, this is foolish to believe the so called logic, (which probably isn't in truth very logical.)
February 17, 2009 at 6:03 am#121826NickHassanParticipantHi david,
So logic = scriptural truth.
I can see why the JWs would have to say that.February 17, 2009 at 6:04 am#121828davidParticipantQuote So logic = scriptural truth. Ya, that's what I said Nick. Sure. Are you for real?
Watch, I can do that too. I'll do it in my next post.

Nick,Afraid not! It is the wisdom of scripture (I cited it) that both Paul and Peter referred to what is “LOGICAL”. Scripture is the wisdom of God and inspired Apostles talked of what is logical.
Your argiument is with Him and the word, not mine.
I'm going back to your “Burger King” approach – “have it your way” Nick.
