What is logical for man is not always the truth, but I would contend that such is not really logic. For example, many think man evolved from apes. They think that it is logical, but I contend that this proposition is illogical.
Logos is often viewed as an appeal to logic and there are some things that are logical that upon denial, demonstrate that a person is deluded. If God created all things through the Logos, then that could imply that the physical universe is logical.
It is absolutely logical for example that there is a God and denial of that is without excuse because that truth is self evident. It is logical to assume that created things imply a creator. Mathematics is an example of logic and in describing the physical universe it appears to always work. We often apply logic everyday to get by. e.g., at 5:30 pm it will take me longer to get home because of the traffic. As for spiritual things, logic alone is not apt to work. Love cannot be defined by mere logic, it is beyond that and should be the base of all.

Yes the logos was with God and the Logos was God.
ps 104.30 f
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the ground.
Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; let the Lord be glad in His works;
He looks at the earth and it trembles; He touches the mountains and they smoke.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
April 11, 2018 at 9:58 am#822183NickHassanParticipantHi,
Gen 1.1f
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
It is all about what God does by His Spirit.
Do not be distracted by the language into thinking the Spirit is divided or man has power.
April 18, 2018 at 7:57 pm#822332ProclaimerParticipantOf course Nick, it is about God. He endowed man to be able to be at awe of his creation and give thanks to him who is above all. Creation is one witness of God’s majesty and is absolute proof of his existence. Studying what he has made is a form of worship. Let’s not let religious bigotry abound. This puts people off God and encourages Atheism. I have found in life that most Atheists are that way because they hate religion, not necessarily God. One of the men I respect the most in history is Sir Isaac Newton. While he studies physics and mathematics and perhaps accomplished more than any other intellectual, he studied his bible even more and appeared to love God. I tend to think that men that criticise such are under an influence of a bitter spirit. They are only interested in respect for themselves and put others down unless they pay homage to them. Certainly I condemn that. If we study medicine, is that a distraction from God? And if we do it because we believe it is legitimate, then do we give thanks to God for it? Let us all grow up in the faith and be humble and above all, love.
April 18, 2018 at 8:07 pm#822333NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Yes Humanism has many advocates.
So does human religion.
But you need to focus more on issues discussed here rather divert into finding fault in others.
April 18, 2018 at 9:16 pm#822348ProclaimerParticipantNick, learn from your own words. You accuse others of not hearing the Spirit, but you never seem to judge yourself which is more important. Would it not be better to focus more on issues discussed here rather divert into finding fault in others as you say? I for one would certainly welcome that. I prefer to discuss scripture rather than answer your accusations which is not discussing the scripture.
I have met so many religious minded men over the years who in their view were right and all others wrong. They were never short of accusing others rather than showing love which is the fruit of the spirit. They were the sort that started denominations or were high up in their hierarchy. This is a place of escape where you can learn and speak about things often forbidden in such places. Unfortunate that this same thing exists to some degree here too in some. They seem unable to focus on the scriptures and make it personal.
I judge by the fruit. You know a tree from its fruit. If it has no love and only accusations, then how can it be a planting of the God. This is what I ask myself. I do not judge you, but I ask such questions because scripture speaks on this and scripture I trust in.
April 18, 2018 at 9:53 pm#822350NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
So back to the task at hand.
Calm down lad.
April 23, 2018 at 5:03 pm#822520ProclaimerParticipantI am within my rights to correct using scripture. Further, I am calm. I am pointing out what a bad idea it is to accuse believers of not being led by the Spirit, thus not being the sons of God. Keep it about attacking doctrines, not people. You could be thrown out of here for judging people like that. You should know better IMO. But I have been patient with you hoping that you will be better and become useful. Life is too short, that is the race is short. Need to cast off all that weighs us down and brings a harsh judgement. Finally, my hope is that all here can let their yes be yes and no be no. Anything else shows a lack of honesty and collusion. I encourage all of us to be transparent. We do not have to agree on everything, but we should in the least be able to to be open to scrutiny and answer questions honestly, rather than act like many politicians who try to avoid the truth by dodging the real questions and instead give spin.
April 23, 2018 at 5:35 pm#822521NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Was not Isaac Newton a leading humanist?
Must look it up.
April 27, 2018 at 9:39 pm#822783ProclaimerParticipantlol. When you are proven wrong, change the subject slightly or change the direction? Jesus died for humans. He was for humans. Newton believed in God, not in the infallibility of humans. Logic is not a bad thing in of itself.
April 27, 2018 at 9:51 pm#822784NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Believe in God, believe also in me.
Believe in Jesus of Nazareth who was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power.
May 22, 2018 at 10:34 pm#829249ProclaimerParticipantAnd who was born the messiah and the lord. Amen.
Not amen if you do not believe of course.
May 23, 2018 at 6:49 am#829264NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Prophetically you are right.
June 19, 2018 at 12:24 am#831098ProclaimerParticipantSo he was born the messiah as it is written. We either agree or not. Simple. There is a line drawn here.
