no defence is not a good defence wen it comes to the truth in scriptures
no defence would be that you have found yourself in error ,and this either humble en enriched the wise or hurts with a blow on the ego
the first one comes closer the other one runs ,

A popular example of that type of question is, “are you still beating your wife?”
If or since, you never beat your wife, answering either yes or no indicates that either you did or continue to do so.
Either answer for you would be wrong, thus making honesty impossible.

Hi Sog, No you’re wrong
You are forgetting you are allowed to explain your answer.
“No” I have never beat my wife
This answer indicates you did not ask an informational based question

Do you only post here to prove others wrong?
“Yes” or “No”
April 17, 2019 at 2:05 pm#844807Ed JParticipantTo All,
Loaded questions cannot be answered yes or no.
Hi Sog,
I was referring to more than a one part question,
where one part is right and another part is wrong.
these Questions need to be repackaged into one partApril 17, 2019 at 2:07 pm#844808Ed JParticipantLoaded questions cannot be answered yes or no

Sog, taking ones words out of context and changing the intent is just as dishonest as the question you propose
December 4, 2020 at 2:09 pm#867893sonofGodParticipantHave you stopped beating your wife?
Yes or no?
December 4, 2020 at 2:29 pm#867894ProclaimerParticipantYes, that is a perfect example of a loaded question. It would only be a legitimate question if you beat your wife at some point.
Next is a question that is not loaded. If you cannot answer it, then such a person is not wanting to tell the truth about what they believe.
“Do you believe in the existence of God?”
The answer is simple.
Yes / No / Not sure.
Let your yes be yes and no be no. Anything else is from the evil one.
