Greetings LJ and Brethren
Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be TEACHERS, ye have need that one TEACH YOU AGAIN which be the FIRST PRINCIPLES of the ORACLES OF GOD; and are become such as have NEED of MILK, and NOT of STRONG MEAT.
Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth MILK is UNSKILFUL in the WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: for he is a BABE.
Hebrews 5:14 But STRONG MEAT belongeth to THEM that are of FULL AGE even THEIR SENSES EXERCISED to DISCERN both GOOD AND EVIL1 Peter 2:2 As NEWBORN BABES, desire the sincere MILK of the WORD, that ye may GROW thereby:
This is not a competition of who knows the most. Anyone can join in. True knowledge was never ours to begin with, but what I would like to show you is that there are solids in the milk. One must be weaned of the milk first before he can receive solids. This is just a process we all have to go through. The easy straightforward things first, then the deeper things will be revealed by the holy spirit as we continue to read and study the Word with a humble spirit. Anything new that we learn should be treated with joy. I am hoping that most here have been weaned off the milk already, but if not, it will come, and for some please concentrate on these verses.
1 Corinth 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1 Corinth 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1 Corinth 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and DIVISIONS, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1 Corinth 3:4 For while one saith, “I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos”; ARE YE NOT CARNAL?1 Corinth 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1 Corinth 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; BUT GOD GAVE THE INCREASE
1 Corinth 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that give the increase.
1 Corinth 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and EVERY MAN SHALL RECEIVE HIS OWN REWARD ACCORDING TO HIS OWN LABOUR.
1 Corinth 3:9 For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.Just to make sure we all understand, if we have envying, strife, and divisions, we will be considered Carnal, and will therefore not receive the meat.
And it doesn't matter who plants the seed (first preached to you) or who watered (shared knowledge/explained scriptures)
for the scriptures say that neither are they anything, for it is God who gives the increase.
He that plants and he that waters are one. Neither one is more superior than the other.
but every man will receive his reward according to HIS OWN labour.

Luke 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Jesus own words. John the baptist was the greatest out of all the prophets.
So why would one who is least in the kingdom of God be greater than John the Baptist?
How can this be?

Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of NECESSITY be the DEATH of the TESTATOR.
Hebrews 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of NO STRENGTH at all while the TESTATOR LIVETH.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with BLOOD; and WITHOUT SHEDDING of BLOOD is NO REMISSION.The new covenant came into effect AFTER Christ's death and resurrection. Before then, all (Israelites) were under the law. AND if they died before the resurrection of Christ, they died under that old law, and
THEY DO NOT SHARE THIS TESTIMONY;Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy MOUTH the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, thou shalt be SAVED.
The prophets prophesied, that the Messiah was to come. John was the only prophet who witnessed this, But he did not witness or testify that Christ died and was resurrected from the dead, as John was beheaded before Christ's death.
John died under the law. The apostles have this testimony, as they died after Christ's departure. We also have this testimony, that CHRIST DIED AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD, and because of this we came to believe. THIS IS WHAT WE BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS AND CONFESS TO ALL MEN.Luke 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but HE THAT IS LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS GREATER THAN HE

Mt 20:25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
Mt 20:26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
Mt 20:27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—
Mt 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”if you see and understand what the rule his in heaven ,you then can understand why Christ says that about John the Baptist,and understand that J the B was not invited to go in Christ kingdom he his not part of the bride of Christ ;
Jn 3:26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”
Jn 3:27 To this John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.
Jn 3:28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.’
Jn 3:29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

October 23, 2012 at 3:08 am#317199journey42ParticipantI just want to add that John will not be in the first resurrection,
however he will NOT miss out,
but he will be in the kingdom, during the 1000 year reign,
but only in the flesh.
Just like Abraham, will be, and Job, and Lazarus
and the rest of the prophets, and the remnant.Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Luke 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Who will be gnashing their teeth? The Israelites that missed out. These ones are provoked to jealousy.
Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. This depiction of torment is not being tortured in hell, this is an example of what it will be like for those who miss out on the kingdom, those Israelites who were so sure they were the chosen ones, but missed out. For them it will be like hell, where they will gnash their teeth in pain (shame) and frustration. They will see their prophets in the kingdom, even Lazarus, and the gentiles, and they themselves missing out. Provoked to jealousy, dying for a taste of what's in the kingdom. Tormented.
1 Kings 14:22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they PROVOKED HIM TO JEALOUSY with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
Psalms 78:58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and MOVED HIM TO JEALOUSY with their graven images.Romans 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I WILL PROVOKE YOU TO JEALOUSY by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for TO PROVOKE THEM TO JEALOUSY.October 23, 2012 at 3:43 am#317203terrariccaParticipantj42

Do you not agree with my summation (in blue)? …if not, why not?You didn't hit the nail on the head.
You did not mention that the prophets, including John were under the Law, the old covenant, and therefore have a different judgement according to the law.
You did not mention that he who believes in his heart, and CONFESSES with HIS MOUTH that Jesus Christ died, and rose from the dead, will be saved,
The apostles and disciples, witnessed this, we are also witnesses of their testimony, and the Word of God given to us, whereas John did not witness this. He died before the end fact. He died knowing only in part, that the Messiah had come, but we know he came, and died. We've witnessed more than John. We know in full. Was John less holy than us who are least in the kingdom?
No way. He was a man of God. The spirit of God was in him
from the womb.Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him Fear not, Zechariah: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and THOU SHALT CALL HIS NAME JOHN
Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; HE SHALL BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST; even FROM HIS MOTHERS WOMB
You did not mention also that the Israelites, whom served God well under the law will be bought into the kingdom in the flesh, during the 1000 year reign, and the saints will be spirit, ruling over the flesh, therefore spirit is greater. It does not mean we are better than John, or more holy now, just that we were born in the era after Christ's resurrection. We will be changed at the twinkling of an eye. Born again into spirit at the 2nd Coming of Christ, made perfect. Only THEN will it happen. In the kingdom to come. All for God's purpose.

Hi Ed,The truth is so beautiful. Needs no adornment.
So simple too.
It's like finding precious diamonds.
How do we stop at a simple explaination to a question? Every revelation leads to more truth, then to more truth, then some more, until you have the whole picture. Not just in part. I didn't learn all this overnight. It was a gradual process. We read, then we ask questions, how can this be? or why does God say this? What does he really mean here? and as we continue reading, our questions get answered gradually, more and more , the more we read. The picture forms. Then everything we read, is so clear. Why does God keep mentioning Israel? Keeps mentioning how angry he is with them, and how he will bring them back. He is not speaking of a few, but of a nation. Many don't know this. Won't acknowledge it one bit, never heard it? Completely missed it. Mind boggling.
You should be happy someone shared the answer with you. You never asked that question did you? (Re John the Baptist) Never thought twice about it? Do you understand that if one is full of envy, strife, and division, he is considered carnal. Carnal is worldly, and you will only be fed with milk, maybe even sour milk, for the solids will be too hard to digest.
