The siskin is of the Carduelis genus and the canary is of the Serinus. Given the Scientists have the correct Genus for the bits within each then the fact they can interbreed teaches us that all the birds of the Carduelis and Serinus genuses are of the same kind. Scientist tent to go by morphology so it is doubtful that they are all correct.
