He was/is honoured as the son of God and the Lamb of God by men, in Heaven, and by the Father.

Not only is he said to be the son of God, it is also a truth that the gates of hell will not prevail against.

  • Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
  • “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”

Is this your confession and belief too? Or are you one of those people who are trying to change the truth for a lie, like “he is just a man of flesh and always has been”, or “he is the Almighty God”?

There are many choices as to who you think Jesus is. The son of God is the correct choice because it is the truth and it is clearly revealed in scripture.

What does the phrase “Son of God” mean? Give me a precise definition with scriptual support.

I'll short circuit this discussion because it's one we've had before – probably more than once. It will save us both some time and back ground it for the benefit of newer members.

You say – “Jesus is not the God, he's the Son of God”

I say – “Are the terms “God” and “Son of God” antithetical? In what sense is Yeshua the Son of God””

You say – “He was begotten by God before the creation”

I say – “Show me where I read about this”?

You say – “I can't really do that”

I say – “Since you can't scriptually substantiate your definition for “Son of God” then you can't prove it's antithetical to “God””

Back to the drawing board t8…..maybe you should look for a definition that's biblical?

Amen brother. And of course the NT writer's did not hold back in their exaltation of Yeshua either. The highest possible statements are made of Him. As an aside – it's interesting to me that readers are NEVER cautioned by NT authors about taking their adulation of Yeshua too far? Not once are we told to be wary of extolling Him to too high a plateau, or breaking the first two commandments in our relationship with Yeshua. How curious.

Amen back to you brother! We are told that all men are to honor the Son EVEN AS they honor the Father (John 5:23).

Paul,

Exactly! The term “Son of God” is not anthetical to God just as “Son of Man” is not antithetical to Man.

Hi KJ,
Forget all the heady theory.
You should know God and His Son.

And of course if you do not honour Him for Who He really is then you dishonour Him.

We are told that all men are to honor the Son EVEN AS they honor the Father (John 5:23

but everyone will be honored in is own work or deeds,

like if you are an disciple you are not the master,

when you are the SON you are not the father,

this is so basic knowledge i do not understand why loosing more time on this topic ?

if you want to make the son of God ,God the father that s your burden and making,

we are in Gods hands he can make us believe the truth or let us believe a lie,all according to our own heart,

Hi KJ,
Make your mind up.
Is there one God or three in your theory?

Three IN one Nick. Not three and one. How many times must I clarify this Nick?

Hi KJ,
Only in your catholic theology.
Scripture does not support this odd theory.

And Jesus prayed that his brothers would share that unity in jn17.
Why not join him?

Apples and oranges Nick. Jesus' claim to oneness with the Father was made after saying that He gives His sheep eternal life and guards them in His hand.

Again it is apples and oranges Nick. Wake up!

Hey Paul

This is a good way to put it. You have a way of putting things into perspective!
