maybe you should come and check it out, and you'll see why they're united and why knowledge (and unfortunately sometimes rumors) spreads like wildfire.The whole group is like one family, and even though there's some bickering and disputes here and there, the overall fact is they are the only group that has been able to spread bible truths (not Nick's version) around the entire world.

Many authorities today claim that if some “serious” changes don't take place that our clean water supply will be almost completely tapped out in around 20 years. I don't know if these numbers are exactly true, but I do know this……something big is coming….and I personally have made a decision to lock in with the one group on earth that is currently meeting Bible Prophecy (Matthew 24:14)
I've checked it all out…..and only one is doing it….
And unfortunately for Nick…..it's not “born again” Christians making it happen.
I guess I was more or less a “born again” over the last 10+ years, because I thought I had it all figured out myself…….but I didn't.

I know how business minded people think, and “profit” is all “most” corporations are concerned with, especially the big ones. Greed is destroying our earth, and “hoping and praying” isn't going to make greedy people stop it.

Anyone with even a remote amount of common sense can see that “the times are changing”, and it is up to them to pick they're place of worship. ( The ruler of this system of things with his worldly “independent” views and it's many gods or………. the True God of the bible)
My last gods of choice were my businesses (busynesses) and the pursuit of money, as my savior. (It doesn't work, I made large amounts of money, but it still wasn't enough)
Many people pursue entertainment and pleasures of this world as their god. (This didn't work for me either, but you can keep trying if you'd like)
Than there's the view that….”god is inside you”…. people like, Wayne Dire (great speaker by the way), Born again Christians, the teachings of Buddhism, and many other “Philosophical” ways of living your life…….and while not that these beliefs are bad in any way…..the questions remain……….DO THEY STEM FROM GOD AND THE BIBLE………..Or do they stem from man and his uncontrollable desire to want to think for himself, even though time and time again it has been proven that he doesn't deserve this right?

Sex, alcohol, our own EGO, money, business, drugs, toys, entertainment, TV, food, family, friends, vengeance, popularity, vanity, violence………even Jesus……………. you name it, and there's guaranteed to be something in this world to keep you MIND-CONTROLLED from seeing what this world really is and more importantly from serving the true god mentioned in the bible!!!The “ruler of this system of things” wants people to be doing anything to keep their minds off what is “coming around the bend”
People are either going to serve the “TRUE” god of the bible or they are going to be serving something else.
The true god of the bible who didn't take well to his followers serving other gods (whether “physically” or “in mind”), who even Jesus himself said to sanctify and give praise to, is none other than one ultimate ruler, the alpha and omega…….HIS FATHER!!! (Who he is is who he is)

You have mentioned several documentaries. The one I would suggest is Al Gores' “An Inconvenient Truth.” It's less conspiracy theory oriented than some of what you suggest and is extremely bleak in it's outlook for this world.Of course, God will soon bring to ruin those ruining the earth. (Rev)

I can't help but wonder what we have sycretized.
Take Christmas, the birthday of Jesus (A lie we do not accept or tolerate in our worship of God, who wants us to worship him with spirit and “truth)
Christmas is also, without question the syncretism of “Christianity” with “paganism.” We neither accept this in our worship, although most everyone on the planet seems to not mind it.I would like examples.
I'd like to add that witnesses did celebrate Christmas until it became obvious that it was pagan.Many people left when this happened……and no one stopped them.(what a weird cult, they didn't try and stop them or at least try and kill them with cool-aid)
Same thing happened with cigarettes in the 50's, lots of people left. (apparently their bad habits were more important than god, I know mine were)
It's the only group that has stayed united and continues to grow worldwide, even when changes are enacted that many people have grown accustomed to. I'm sure it will continue to happen when new truths come to light. (such as some things that seem to bother Nick so much….that is if what Nick feels is true on certain subjects)
As a group witnesses “roll with the punches” and accept proper guidance when it is given, regardless of what the “traditions” of men may be.
Some “intellectuals” in the group have found out facts before Jehovah's Witnesses made it public information. Many of these “Intellectuals” then started their own beliefs and left the group as a whole, because the witnesses weren't going as fast as these individuals “felt” they should be . Many started their own “religious” groups and took many people with them, but they never make it and die off over time, or split into even more smaller groups.
Apparently, there is some odd force that is allowing the witness organization to grow so rapidly, without forcing tithing and “squeezing” money from all of their members and with no TV advertising, or mass-marketing mailing campaigns. (As a business owner I can't figure out how they do it.)
Either way they are!

I'm one of his brothers…..and I've been “on my own” for over 10 years now.It's dificult to grow by yourself, it's even more difficult when everyone “does there own thing” as seems to be promoted on this site and in the world.
I've been out for quite some time, but when I was serving….we were told not to spend time in chat rooms, because it's a waste of time.(Yet here I am trying to reason with people that don't want to reason)
This is David's way of making a response on behalf of a group that you guys would be spreading numerous lies about if David wasn't here. He didn't start this thread….If he wasn't here you guys would be saying we sacrifice goats, and have sex orgies once a month.
For David to consistently put up with this kind of opposition is not for the “weak of heart”…..I can see why most witnesses are advised to stay away……you “bashers” are relentless. Even Nick, after being told repeatedly that it isn't true, keeps telling people that witnesses force “tithing” which is complete B.S.

I gotta give it to you David……I don't know if I could put up with this much abuse and even remotely keep my cool for as long as you have. You saw how I acted when I first came here……I've got a lot of humbling to do before I can spend too much time on here, because some of the crap that gets smeared around here makes me nauseous.
One final thought, since I've been out of the witness organization for over 10 years, I've got a bunch of friends that are not witnesses.
Most are the “independent” types with the whole “god is in your heart” meaning of life philosophy. I love a couple of them very much, but most I wouldn't trust any further than I could throw them. (maybe 5-6 feet…j/k)
One was a baptist that screwed me out of $30K…..(I know not all baptists are like him). He made it very clear that money was his god. And I no longer trust him.
But witnesses that I can tell love Jehovah in the way they behave, I would trust with my life. Because they aren't living by “mans” idea of what serving god is, their following the Bibles idea of what serving god is. I can go to any country in the world and call a local congregation and find a place to stay a few nights.
And I know everything will be just fine, because Jehovah expects his people to meet proper standards.One of my best friends before I left the organization was a witness….we were drinking buddies and he messed around with my wife….I then I beat the crap out of him. My wife and him were disfellowshipped, and I was publicly approved.
No other religion on earth has consequences for bad behavior.
Not one!
I then spent 10 years full of hate toward the witness organization, but you know what? It wasn't them that allowed what happened to happen. I made friendships with people that I knew proved by their “fruit” that they were no good. The organization kicked them all out after repeatedly not watching their behaviors. (some stayed out, a handful repented)
I only say this info to show you that all of us are human, and no organization is going to change this fact….but only one organization expects standards of worship that are fitting to a truly god fearing group that won't put up with the “I'm only human” excuse over and over again.
You either want to serve god the way the bible says, or you don't.
This doesn't mean you have to be a prude, but if you start consistently crossing the line (like my friends and I did)……you may not be asked to leave….but if you get disassociated….. no one will talk to you until you prove that you are done “doing your own thing”……as is so well pushed on these forums.
I'm not your typical witness, I'm built like a brick crap-house, and I'm an ornery s.o.b that has no problem getting into scraps…… but give it a few months, and I'll be that nice looking gentlemen knocking at you door, you'd better be kind, because I'd hate to lose my temper. (but I'm sure with god's backing I'll be able to control myself)
You see……Jehovah disciplines his children, and if you don't like it….you can leave the house, just like I did.
I've experienced enough of this world and it's “do your own thing” mentality to realize it's no better, in fact it's much worse. (I've got the scars to prove it)
Don't bash a religion that expects its followers to meet acceptable standards that are brought out in the bible (and not by men).
For who are you to judge that GOD wouldn't expect proper standards from his true followers.
I find it funny that this is the main organization to get bashed on this site because they believe they have the truth based on the bible's standards.
If you don't believe you've got a grasp on the truth from all angles, you'd better keep searching…..

It is quite ridiculous really to say that the Holy Spirit is just the spiritual presence of the Father or the Son or of both. At the baptism of Jesus the Three were manifested there. The Father spoke from heaven, Jesus was in the water being baptized, and the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus like a dove. The Father and Jesus needed no spiritual presence of any third party.
Remember too the baptismal formula Jesus gave at Matthew 28:19 – “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Blind Freddy can surely see that there are Three Persons in the Heavenly Trio.
