Quote Hi david,
The view from outside is rather different.
A human organisation working in their human strength to obey human commanders. All thus overlaid with a smug sense of superiority not unlike the Pharisee in the temple.
Not supreriority Nick. I believe just as you do, that my beliefs are true. If I didn't believe they were true….I wouldn't believe them obviously. You believe your beliefs are true, and therefore, that other peoples beliefs are false. Shall I call this you feeling superior?
February 27, 2009 at 12:48 am#123315NickHassanParticipantHi david,
We offer scripture here and not the words of the Watchtower.February 27, 2009 at 12:58 am#123320davidParticipantAnd that makes you superior, Nick?
If you've ever read a Watchtower Nick, you might just find it contains a lot of scripture.February 27, 2009 at 1:39 am#123349NickHassanParticipantHi david,
Why should we reach for the carnal thoughts of carnal men when we have sacred scripture?February 27, 2009 at 1:41 am#123351davidParticipantHi Nick,
Why should we believe you when we can believe the Bible?(I can ask questions like this too)
February 27, 2009 at 1:43 am#123352NickHassanParticipantHi david,
You got it right.
But you just offered us a Watchtower?February 27, 2009 at 1:46 am#123356davidParticipantDid I? Or did I start a study of the Bible with you?
February 27, 2009 at 1:50 am#123358NickHassanParticipantHi david,
You really believe none can be saved outside of the dominion of the watchtower do you not?February 27, 2009 at 1:52 am#123359davidParticipantAnd where did I say that?
Nick, I've just posted this in another thread. It apparently belongs here too:
Quote I was just reading through the trinity thread, part 2. In response to WJ, you said:
Hi WJ,
“So you agree trinity theory has no validity from scriptural teaching then?”NICK, YOU DO THIS ALL THE TIME, EVERY THIRD COMMENT. It's like you're having a conversation with yourself. WJ obviously, without question, does not believe what you just said he agrees to. You create false arguments and make statements that have no basis in reality. (I'm sure you've noticed I've started doing the same to you, as a last ditch effort, so you can see how useless and annoying it is.)
February 27, 2009 at 1:55 am#123361davidParticipantNick, taken from the first reference I could find, from a booklet on what JW's believe:
Do they believe that they are the only ones who will be saved?
No. Many millions that have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah’s Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before the “great tribulation,” and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. We look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. He has committed judgment into Jesus’ hands, not ours.—Matthew 7:1-5; 24:21.
In response to Nick's question:
Quote Hi david,

I read them both. They are both pretty facinating. No more opinion filled than some other Christian blog or posts I read here on HeavenNet. Most of what they share are pretty timely and always scripture-based.
Nick, is your beef really with a little magazine?
February 27, 2009 at 2:03 am#123364NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
The serpents deception to get men to commit to false religion instead of the Body of Christ.February 27, 2009 at 2:11 am#123365davidParticipantNick, what unusual things, would the body of Christ be doing right now?
You think they'd stand out in some way, wouldn't you? Jesus disciples did. They were very different.
Nick, do you think the body of Christ would be unified, or divided, in beliefs, and conduct?
Nick, do you think most people would agree with the body of Christ? Or would people in general think they were crazy, and wrong?
February 27, 2009 at 2:13 am#123366NickHassanParticipantHi david,
You think the Watchtower IS the body of Christ?
They would not add to scripture and the powers of God would be manifest there.February 27, 2009 at 2:14 am#123368davidParticipantNick,
So you don't know the scriptural answers to the questions I asked? Is that what your silence indicates?Or, option B, you do know the answers, but they don't play well into your beliefs about JW's.
Which is it?
February 27, 2009 at 2:17 am#123369NickHassanParticipantHi david,
Your unity with their beliefs seems stronger than your loyalty to scripture. But you would give more faith to them if you believe the DISCREET SLAVE is like the pope is for the catholics
February 27, 2009 at 2:21 am#123371davidParticipantQuote and the powers of God would be manifest there. When you say “powers of God” what do you mean? The babbling? We do speak languages that would cover almost all the earth. Or are you talking playing with snakes?
What I see, is a worldwide organisation that unlike all others, actually has a worldwide brotherhood, as spoken of in the scriptures. Obviously, we don't kill our own members. The mormons go to war, I believe. All the “Christian” religions do. And, so, they kill their brothers.
We, on the other hand, are sent to prison, because we refuse to kill our brothers, or anyone, really.
Here is what I think of when I think of the power of God:
ACTS 1:8
“but YOU will receive POWER when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de′a and Sa·mar′i·a and to the most distant part of the earth.””The only group who are following Jesus command to “go and make disciples” (mt 28) carrying out a worldwide united message appear to be JW's. (The mormons are trying, but only 1/200 of their members actually do the preaching work. All JW's witness about Jehovah and his Son.)
The ability to do this takes great power. Others have tried. The catholics tried for a week. Someone I called on tried to go and talk to people. (He also gave up after a week.)
It's not that we can do this with God's help, it's that we are doing this unitedly to the world, with God's help.February 27, 2009 at 2:21 am#123372davidParticipantI keep wondering why you refuse to answer these questions:
Nick, what unusual things, would the body of Christ be doing right now?

February 27, 2009 at 2:28 am#123376NickHassanParticipantHi david,
Fruit and Works of power would be better evidence than these externals you offer.February 27, 2009 at 2:29 am#123378davidParticipantSuch as?
