Without Jesus is repentance useless and with Jesus and someone confessing him as lord and saviour is repentance something different?
Can a homosexual turn his life over to Jesus and claim him as lord and saviour even though he still has not put away his homosexuality? When that person dies will his great love, devotion and faith in Jesus “Save him”?

Greetings B Repentance is a gift from God….We cannot change our nature, which is at enmity with God unless he grants us repentance and that comes through the gift of his spirit in us….The homosexual who has truly repented is no longer a participant in that lifestyle…He/she has changed through the grace of God….As long as we remain carnal we are subject to temptation if we do not continue with nourishment of the word of God we can lose the gift and return to the world ….August 25, 2010 at 12:52 pm#213752shimmerParticipantGod saves, Bod. Yahshua, if you have faith in that, God is the judge in the end.

What if he cannot break away from the homosexual lifestyle but still has faith that Jesus will save him anyway?August 27, 2010 at 12:00 am#214040ProclaimerParticipantSalvation is a free gift, but the gift is given under the condition that you are repentant.
If you are not repentant, then you renege on the gift.
Being in a state of repentance is not a work, it is a state.August 27, 2010 at 2:22 am#214050942767ParticipantQuote (bodhitharta @ Aug. 26 2010,02:28) Quote (theodorej @ Aug. 25 2010,23:10) Quote (bodhitharta @ Aug. 21 2010,13:21) Without Jesus is repentance useless and with Jesus and someone confessing him as lord and saviour is repentance something different? Hi BD:If someone has come to God with a repentant heart (that is they have acknowledged that they have sinned and are sorry for their sins and are willing now that they know the truth to change the direction of their lifestyle) believing God's Testimony regarding His giving His Only Begotten Son to be the propitiation for his sins, that person will receive the Holy Ghost because his sins will be washed away by the blood of Jesus.
A person who has been a homosexual will have the help of God through His Holy Spirit dwelling within him if he sincerely wants to overcome this sin or any other sin. He may be overcome in this fault several times before finally overcoming. Because Jesus lives forever to make intercession for us when we are overcome in a fault, we can eventually overcome sin as we learn to apply his Word in our daily lives. It is his blood that washes away our sins when we fall short of perfect obedience, and repent asking God to forgive us. Since the wages of sin is death, we could not overcome without the blood that was shed for our sins.

How do you get from the state of not repenting to a state of having repented if it is not a “work” of change? How can you renege on a gift? What kind of a giver imposes that kind of condition?
These religious platitudes are lunatic!

This is a mindless position to take. What if a gay person cannot reasonably “put away his homosexuality”?
Do you actually know why people are homosexual, or are you satisfied with imposing your religious doctrine from a position of ignorance regardless of the nature of sexuality?

OK, it is possible that I have misrepresented your view. Are you saying that your alternative does not require a believer to suppress his homosexuality?Stuart
