Heb: 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Heb 8:13 13In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
—–
Didn't Jesus himself say, he did not come to abolish the law, but to fufill it?
This means that the old law is not done away with, and is still valid and applicable…
Jesus' role within the law, was to extinguish condemnation, and to allow mankind to achieve righteousness and purification through the heart and mind, as oppose to strict works and practices.
——-
So instead of obtaining righteousness by repenting, slaying lambs and goats, doing good deeds, washing hands and foods…
we do so, by repenting then believeing we are clean and acting on that faith, therefore making all our works clean.
so the focus is taken off the works, and put back on the faith.
but the outcome is the same.
IMO, the OT covenant was perfect…but humans are not, therefore another covenant was established to help mankind (who is ever changing) adjust to God's way.
During the times of moses, the people of those days didn't think or act the way we do nowadays, so the covenant fit their way of life perfectly…
The people of today however, could not possible honor God with the OT covenant, so a new one had to be created that didn't abolish or contradict the old one…it just provided a new approach to the same concepts….
——
My beef is with Paul's position and words….it seems to contradict the teachs of the OT, the OT Covenant, Jesus Christ's words, and God himself…
am I wrong? or am I interpreting his teachings incorrectly.

Do you believe The Apostle Paul's (Shaool) writings?
August 1, 2010 at 1:17 am#207181chosenoneParticipantThough the title, “Hebrews” is not inspired, the opening strain shows that this epistle is addressed to Israelites “whose are the fathers” (Ro. 9:5), and who alone had the oracles of God. No author is given. This is an inspired omission. It is a grave mistake to seek to supply one. It is fatal to put Paul's name here, for his ministries are distinct from and above all that this epistle has for the Hebrews.
Blessings.
