I am excited to meet everyone. My name is Randy. I have been
married for over 20 years and I have two sons. My entire life has
been surrounded by God for as far as I can remember. When I was a
child, God came to me in my dreams and would call of me. In my
dreams, I would follow his voice until I was in the middle of a
field. God would come down to me from out of heaven and speak with
me. Now, his appearance was that of something a child less then 5
could associate with. Don't laugh, but it was like a slinky. At the
end of the slinky was his face. He would come down and we would
talk. I don't remember what we spoke of, but I do remember that when
I started kindergarden Sunday school, the women were amazed about my
understanding of God.
My hunger to know God continued as I got older, but the dreams
ceased. When I got my first bible and was able to read, I would go
into my room and shut my door and read. I didn't understand it, but
I just felt close to God when I read it. Anyway, at the age of 15, I
was invited to a youth for Christ getaway at the YMCA and it was
there I was born again. It was such a powerful conversion. I was so
excited to get home and tell my parents, but became crushed when
they didn't care. They said maybe I will mind them better now.
Anyway, I continued going to church, but it was not alivb and
because the living word was not being preached, I began to starve in
the faith. At 19, I met a girl who was very beautiful and got
married. I was still trying to work out my faith, but was ignorant
in the faith. I prayed that God would show me a church he wanted me
to attend and I it has been my church ever since. My wife didn't
have the same enthusiasm as I did when it came to God and we began
having trouble in our marriage. Now, my faith had grown strong, very
strong. Here is a for instance. The place I worked had an area that
was like a huge room with many windows. Birds would fly in and would
not be able to find their way back out. This room was always filled
with sulfer gas. The birds that got trapped would end up dying
because of the gas. This one day, I was in this room taking readings
when I noticed a bird had flown in. So, I tried to catch it. After
about the third unsuccessful attempt, I gave up. I became sad and
went back to my readings. After awhile, I see the bird fly out of
the corner of my eye. I turned and it was about 25 feet from me. It
was then I felt the unction of the Holy Spirit move within me. I
prayed, Father God, I don't believe you want this small creature to
die in this place so I ask you help me catch it. I said, satan, I
rebuke the fear you have in this small creature of God's and I
command it to be gone in the name of Jesus. The bird, flew until it
was about four feet in front of me. It then hopped until it was
about two feet behind me. Now, I can remember thinking like a man in
that not to make any sudden movements so as not to scare the bird. I
looked at the bird and it was looking at me as if to say, what are
you waiting for stupid, set me free. I reached down, picked it up
and let it outside. Now, back to this strong faith that could not hold my marriage
together. I never understood why my faith didn't save my marriage
until about 3 years ago when God finally told me. He told me that
she was my pick for a wife, not his pick. Talk about being blown
away. Now, my wife I am married to now was an answer to a prayer. I
was tired of the dating scene so I asked the Lord to help me find a
wife which he did. She is my soulmate. Now for the rest of my faith and somethings God has done to reveal
himself, I will just speak of the biggest. We were having a new
church built and as preparations were being made for it's
construction, we had an outside dedication for the new church. The
new church sits on top of a hill and you can see for miles in all
directions. On the day of the dedication, a flatbed was brought in
as a stage. I live in Ohio and the dedication was being held in late
September if I can remember right. The sun was shining and it was
warm. Because it was so warm and was so beautiful, everyone came to
the service lightly dressed. We started out with bible study which
lasts about an hour. Now before the hour was over, the clear sky had
clouded up to the point that you could not see a ray of sunlight any
place. On top of that, the tempature dropped and had gotten cold
enough that most of us were shivering. We started the service with
songs of praise and that warmed us up some. Then our preacher gave
the message. He said, Father God, I don't believe you want any
distractions to your message so in Jesus name, I pray a hole open in
the clouds and a beam of sunlight shine down on the service so the
saints will concentrate on your message and not be distracted by the
cold. Well, a hole opened up in the cloud and a beam of sun shined
down on us. Now, this is miracle one. About midway through the
message a car pulled up and a man and a small boy got out and was
seated. At the end of the message, the preacher asked if anyone
wanted to give a personal testimony on what God is doing in their
life. Well this man stood up and said that he was attending a church
in Pennsulvania, but somethings were happening in the church and
that he felt led by the Holy Spirit to find another church. He said
the Holy Spirit told him to get in his car and drive, for he would
be led where to go. He said he seen the clouds open up and watched
as the sun shined down. He said he felt led to follow the beam of
light to our service. Now, most people will live their entire lives
without even seeing one miracle. This day, we saw the power of God
twice. Now that I talked your ears off, I will stop here.June 2, 2006 at 12:06 am#14434WoutlawParticipantNow, back to this strong faith that could not hold my marriage
together. I never understood why my faith didn't save my marriage

she was my pick for a wife, not his pick. This is very true. My barber was in the same situation with his ex wife. He said it seem like nothing could keep their marriage together. He said he prayed and prayed but nothing changed. Finally the marriage fell apart. He went to his bishop, and the bishop told him that he married his “girlfriend” and not your “wife”. Many times we go seeking after what we think is good for us and not consider God's will!!!!!!!!!

Hi Randy,
Has anything else exciting happened ? Any more miracles?September 26, 2006 at 4:50 am#29237DebraParticipantHi Randy. Thank you for your story. While I was working today, I was talking to Jesus, and I felt the urge to write certain thoughts down so I did, this is what I wrote. Lord let me serve as evidence to your Glory to people who are like me. You know the roads I've travelled and the holes I've fallen into. If it is your will that I tell of these things within this body of believers give me the strength, wisdom and discernment to do so. I can relate to your story. I'm married to a good man now too, this is my third marriage, and if It wasn't for Jesus in our lives and our belief in Him I would probably be into my 4th marriage. I don't believe God chooses someone for you,(I'll probably get in trouble for this one.) I think we always choose for ourselves in relationships, thats because we have free will. But I believe God ,if asked to be the Head of the union between husband and wife will be. And if the two are obedient to our Father he will bless us according to His will not ours. We have been married for 14years, I had two daughters and a grandson no money a fast failing business, and a not so pure past, when we met, I believed in One God, but worshipped many, my income came from reading Tarrot cards and speaking to the dead on a regular basis. I was a devotee of a guru for 20 years or so, but because somewhere written on my heart were the words Eternity I believed there had to be only one true God. My choice to follow many was made before knowing Him personally, because the gods of Baal were keepers at my gate and I was giving them permission to be there without knowing that of course, satan was an angel of light to me then. My husband was a foreigner in my land and here only 2 years, he migrated to Australia because a Witch told him he would find the wife for him here. We only knew each other a short time before we were married. He gave his life to the Lord one week before we were to be united as one, me, being the intrument of the enemy at the time, rose up in fury, how could this happen, anything but Christianity, I wouldn't have cared what path he chose just not that one.Too late I thought, oh well I can always leave if it dosn't work out. From the moment we said I do, Satan said Oh, do you, I'll see about that, and before we'd stepped of the podium, one of our pagan guests, jumped in front of us and started to perform a ritual, now normally I would welcome that, but something inside was not right, later on my husband told me he prayed to Jesus at that very moment, this is a baby Christian praying a prayer of warfare over a demon of satans. It was a horrible first 4 years, we were in a constant battle, I left many times but my husbands faith was stronger than all the firey darts of satan, eventhough I wasn't yet a believer, in fact my unbelief kept the door to our marriage open to all sorts of demons, each ones only mission was to destroy the root of Truth in this family. I know the power of the enemy first hand. When God spoke clearly to me the first time about the importance of obedience, I felt like the women at the well, He told me everything I knew about myself already, this is when I made my choice to follow Jesus and get Baptised in Jesus Name. Since then 9 years ago we have also grown stronger and we are blessed and we really know it. God has blessed us because of our obedience, many times it was difficult to be obedient, but I kept thinking about the Scripture where it say's It is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God, I think it's in Hebrews, Jesus is amazing and the biggest miracle we came through it, and not in our own strength. Praise God.

September 26, 2006 at 7:04 am#29245DebraParticipantH, was that your testimony I just read and replied back too? Didn't make the connection until now. Nice to know where your coming from, I think we need to try a little harder to know each others backgrounds it helps when communicating this way do you agree?
September 26, 2006 at 7:13 pm#29260NickHassanParticipantHi Randy,
Excuse my ignorance but what is a slinky?
Does the slinky still appear in your life at times?September 27, 2006 at 1:08 am#29293He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantDear Debra,
Yes sister, that is my testimony. The Lord has been with me always. I on the other hand cannot say the same. Although I stand strong in the faith now, I went through a time where I was rebellious. But the Lord never gave up on me and I repented and turned my life back to him.
September 27, 2006 at 2:56 am#29300NickHassanParticipantHi H,
I am uncomfortable with any thought that wierd childhood experiences are manifestations of God. What about others?September 27, 2006 at 6:46 am#29322MercyParticipantThanks for your Testimony, Randy.
P.S. are you a Tolkien fan?

This is not Disneyland but good solid kiwi blokes live over here and we do not need teddies or slinkies, whatever they are, and one could get arrested asking for such a thing in NZ.September 27, 2006 at 6:47 pm#29355NickHassanParticipantHi,
Over here slinkies are the skins of dead lambs, “slink skins”September 27, 2006 at 8:47 pm#29368NickHassanParticipantHi,
Anyway who else thinks God appears as a slinky, or is this rather more like what some children call their 'invisible friends'?September 28, 2006 at 2:58 am#29412davidParticipantQuote This is not Disneyland but good solid kiwi blokes live over here and we do not need teddies or slinkies, whatever they are, and one could get arrested asking for such a thing in NZ. I think I'm confused as to what you think I think slinkies are.“blokes.” You never speak in NZ talk on the forum. In real life, do you use words like “blokes.”?

So far I gather they are exciting and you need some stairs to be fully acquainted with their benefits so generally speaking I am still completely in the dark, mate.September 28, 2006 at 4:28 am#29417davidParticipantBrilliant, bugalugs.

Great testimony of God's goodness and salvation.
September 28, 2006 at 10:43 pm#29483He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantNick, you can't rile me to anger by making jestures of my dreams as a child. I was very young when the Lord came to me. The only reason I can figure God chose to come in the form that he did was that it was something I, as a child could relate to. All I know is that he has been with me always.
