    Quote (WorshippingJesus @ Mar. 28 2007,07:50)

    Quote
    God has revealed to us that Jesus is His only begotten Son and his Christ, and so, why is it necessary to keep searching the scriptures for some other revelation?  Is this not sufficient?   God made man in his image.  He is God in that He is the express image of God's person as Hebrews 1:3 tells us, but if the Word that He taught and obeyed came from God.  How then can he be God?

    Because scriptures declare his is God?

    :)

    No, WJ:

    God the Father calls him God because he is the express image of his person, but the revelation to humanity relative to Jesus from God the Father is that he is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

    1 Co. 8:6 makes this plain.

    But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

    Hi,
    Once you understand that sonship is by sharing the Spirit and that Jesus became a son when he was given the Spirit at the Jordan then there is no conflict.

    The anointing Spirit is the Word.

    Thus Jesus became the Word.

    The Word was God.

    Hi ,
    He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

    18This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

    19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

    20To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

    21To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

    22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

    23He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

    24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

    25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

    26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

    27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

    28The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

    This is written about God.

    Hebrews 1
    1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

    2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

    3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

    4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

    5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

    6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

    7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

    8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

    9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

    10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

    11They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

    12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

    13But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

    14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

    Thsi also is written about God.
    The Word that was with God and was God.
    That Word became flesh[in Jesius ] and dwelt among us.

    Inbstead in their confusion carnal men conclude that either there are two Gods or Jesus Christ is God
