In the history of Heaven.net does anyone know of any person ever actually changing their mind on their understanding of the trinity. This change could be away or towards the trinitarian perspective.
I am just curious if anyone has actually had a change of mind.
Has a trinitarian ever saw the light and became a non-trinitarian and/or saw the light and became a trinitarian?I am sure much knowledge has been gained through iron sharpening iron. Yet, that is not the same as actually being convinced ones position was incorrect.
January 16, 2007 at 6:27 pm#37382NickHassanParticipantHi MS,
Yes two or three have said so.
But it is harder sowing among tares.
It would be easier if men had not already been indoctrinated in the world by trinity.
But that is par for the course in idolatrous societies as Paul found in Athens.
But God always gathers a small crop for eternity.
His word does not return empty.January 16, 2007 at 8:33 pm#37383DebraParticipantHi Morning Star
Yes,me, this forum has been the instigator for me questioning the trinity,I have been here since September 06 and I have been studying both sides since discovering there was another view, I go to an Anglican church so it was never questioned, and I'm not from a church/Christian background so was ignorant as far a chuch doctrine went anyway, I just knew I loved God and wanted a relationship with Jesus and that the Holy Spirit had alot to do with that relationship.
So yes I have had a change of mind, which has led me to come out of the church I have been attending for the past 7 years, I met with my pastor, and told her I could no longer attend on a regular basis because I don't believe the trinity to be true, I am now looking at home church with likeminded believers.
Thank you, the teachers on Heaven net, who have helped me to see and led me to question
God bless..January 16, 2007 at 10:16 pm#37384davidParticipantQuote I am just curious if anyone has actually had a change of mind.
For the most part, I have only been strengthened in my beliefs. I have had one or two changes in thought, things I've never considered. But they are minor and inconsequential.January 16, 2007 at 10:18 pm#37385NickHassanParticipantGot it sussed david?

Apparently, there are some who “really” are Jesus “disciples.” These ones “know the truth.”
Yet I get the feeling Nick doesn't believe the statement in bold. Do you Nick? The statement in bold? What does the scripture say?

100% non trinitarian. I now find it hard to believe that our church, as well as most
Christian churches will almost cast you out if you say that you do not believe in the tirnity.
Ask me how I know about my church. I just left a discussion group at the church today
about the trinity concept and before it was through most everyone was either angry with me or
shaking their head that I have lost my way.I have been reading this forum for some time now but just officially joined this afternoon.

I have a few questions. If you dont mind answering.
How long did you go there?
Is this where you got saved?
Do they preach Jesus as the only way of salvation?
Is the church growing and are they reaching out in your community?
Blessings:)
January 16, 2007 at 11:30 pm#37394davidParticipantHello Timothy.
Timothy, the truth, as you know, is that the apostles and Jesus fortold an apostasy.
The truth, as you know, is that the trinity wasn't solidly established as a teaching until hundreds of years after Christ.Welcome to the forum.

Those who accept the truth and follow Christ, will without question, be persecuted, face opposition and generally, not be well liked by the world.
2 TIMOTHY 3:12
“In fact, ALL THOSE desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.”It's because Satan rules this world. It's because Satan doesn't want you to know the truth. Even now, Satan isn't happy. He really doesn't want you to learn the truth. Don't let opposition or wolflike men hamper your desire for truth.

““Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake.”david

Hi W,
A donkey has been known to teach the truth in the past. But humans rarely get the message right, teaching as doctrines the traditions of men..

Back around 1870 AD Jehovahs Witneses was born, long after trinitarian view.
They Believe…
Jehovah's Witnesses reject traditional Christian doctrines such as the Trinity, eternal torment in hell and the immortality of the soul. The central theme of their preaching is God’s Kingdom (that is, God's rule over the Earth) with Jesus Christ as its king. The Witnesses believe this rule began with the Second Coming or presence of Christ. Originally, this was believed to have occurred invisibly in 1874, but this date was later revised to 1914.
Other Witness teachings include the recognition and use of a personal name for God, translated as Jehovah in English, as vital for acceptable worship. They believe that Jesus' death was necessary to atone for the sin brought into the world by the first man, Adam, thus opening the way for the hope of everlasting life for mankind. It is also taught that only 144,000 people will receive eternal life in heaven with Jesus Christ as co-rulers over the earth. Witnesses believe that in the war of Armageddon, which they believe to be imminent, the wicked will be destroyed. The survivors of this event, along with individuals deemed worthy of resurrection, will form a new society and have the possibility of living forever in an earthly paradise.

Welcome tim,
May the Lord light your path.Remember the man who was cast out of the synagogue because he told them he was healed by Jesus?
Jesus went looking for him to encourage him.

Hi WJ
Thank you for the welcome.
I do remember who shares my love of Jesus with me.
I stay at the church because I enjoy their fellowship.
I have been studying scriptures dillegently for the last year.
I probably study four to six hours each day.
During this time I have become less tolerent of some of the things that I hear them say. Things like God wants to save us but he can't because our will is too strong for him.
I do not believe that the two words, God and can't, should be used together when speaking of His ability to accomplish something.Tim

Hi JW,
I will answer your questions.1. I have attended this church for about 16 months now.
2. No, I was saved 26 years ago in a Southern Babtist church.
3. Yes, they preach that repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour is the only way to salvation.
4. Our church has just recently had some political problems resulting in a number of the congregation leaving.
So for now I wouldn't say that it is growing, but they are reaching out to the community.Thank you for your interest and your blessings.
Tim
