The debate over the Godhead is an old one to say the least.
Men for centurys have distrorted and wrested the scriptures and in many cases cast them behind their backs in order to support their Anti-Scriptural views.
Satan has sought to destroy the word of God off the face of the planet with no success.

The beginnings of most cults happens when men withdraw themselves form the mainstream of the body of Christ , and stop meeting with believers, isolating themselves.I suppose the biggest attack Satan could bring is against the Godhead. Of course Satan can’t touch God, but if he can deceive his people by causing them to believe a lie, then he would be successful in dividing the body and distorting ones view of who God is.
Some of the toughest scriptures for most of these decievers to deal with that supports the Deity of Jesus is Jn 1:1-3.
Many try to change them, or ignore them, and maybe even some secretly wish they were not in the Canon. Some may even wish that all the writings of John would disappear.
These are foundational scriptures that put together with Old and New Testament scriptures becomes evidence proving Jesus is God. Not the Father or the Spirit, but God, One with the Father and the Spirit.
There is no denying their validity, or accuracy. All the translators of the major translations agreed the same.
Jn 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made
Put these scriptures together with the many others speaking of the Godhead. And you have irrefutable evidence that can not be denied without turning the head and stopping the ears.II Peter 3:

Paul would have used the noun ’theos’ if he wanted to convey this (note that Jesus is also said to be IN the Father in John 10:38; 14:10, 11; 17:21). Nor can you translate “theotes” to mean a simple quality or attribute (“theiotes” would be the appropriate word for this), it goes well beyond this, and instead refers to ‘divine essence’.
Thayer’s lexicon defines theotes as the “state of being God”.
Vine’s Expository Dictionary of NT words records this:
”…But in the second passage (Col. 2:9), Paul is declaring that in the Son there dwells all the fullness of absolute Godhead; they were no mere rays of Divine glory which gilded Him, lighting up His Person for a season and with a splendor not His own; but He was, and is, absolute and perfect God; and the Apostle uses theotes to express this essential and personal Godhead of the Son” (Trench, Syn. ii). Theotes indicates the “Divine” essence of Godhood, the personality of God; theiotes, the attributes of God, His “Divine” nature and properties.
Considering all the Greek in Col 2:9, Paul affirmed that the fullness of the divine essence has permanently settled in Jesus' body, an emphatic statement of absolute Deity, and biblical language like this is NEVER applied to any other than Yahshua…..”Theotes” is never applied to believers……
To paraphrase Paul's conveyence in Col 2:9 – Yahshua was walking deity…..

It is quite ridiculous really to say that the Holy Spirit is just the spiritual presence of the Father or the Son or of both. At the baptism of Jesus the Three were manifested there. The Father spoke from heaven, Jesus was in the water being baptized, and the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus like a dove. The Father and Jesus needed no spiritual presence of any third party.
Remember too the baptismal formula Jesus gave at Matthew 28:19 – “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Blind Freddy can surely see that there are Three Persons in the Heavenly Trio.
The HOLY SPIRIT (a Person) is endowed with very “personal” characteristics like:
Intelligence and knowledge, feelings and teaching ability.(John 14:26) “for He will teach you all things”.
