Good morning! And in case I don't see ya, good afternoon and good night!Isaiah, Shaina and I were trying to hide some personal information that was accidentally posted by one of us last night. We were talking about anything that came to mind to bury the post within the pages. But then Nick came along and took care of the accidental post.
Thanks, Nick!
It was fun though…….

Yeah, but we failed in one sense, the conversation was supposed to be “completely inane” but in reading back through it I reckoned it was some of the most interesting, salient and informative conversation had in HN. “Whelmed” – brilliant.June 14, 2008 at 2:20 am#92710942767ParticipantQuote (dirtyknections @ June 12 2008,12:16) Hebrews 13:12-14 (niv)-12And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. 13Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Lately..I have really been studying and praying on the power and meaning of this scripture…
To me…this scripture is saying that Jesus went OUTSIDE the city (or camp) to suffer..What is the city or camp referred to here?
It is the “city” (“camp”) of…traditions of men…oppresive burdensome law…organized religion which goes beyond what is written…and Paul here emplores us to do the same…
Paul is telling us to go forth to Jesus outside the city or camp…Why OUTSIDE the city?…
Because Christ can not be found in traditions of men…burdensome law…and organized religion operating outside what is written…
He is located outside of these things…only thru God's spirit can we unify our location with his…
Hi DK:My understanding is that “outside the city” means into the world where there are sinners who do not know God.
We the church are the “city that is set on a hill”, New Jerusalem. The name Jerusalem means “teaching of peace”, and so, the church is that city that is teaching peace specifically, peace with God through His Only Begotten Son and His Christ, Jesus.
And so, we are commissioned to go into all of the world preaching the gospel, and in doing so, we like Jesus will suffer persecution.
Quote 2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. God Bless

June 14, 2008 at 6:46 am#92737ShaniaParticipantI was thinking about how it says that we have to go to Him. That means that we have to meet Him where He is, on His terms. Where He is at is not comfortable, but it is the only place to be for those who love Him.
This scripture may seem random, but I think it correlates:
Song 5:2-7
2 I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My lover is knocking:
“Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.” 3 I have taken off my robe — must I put it on again? I have washed my feet — must I soil them again? She is in bed and she is comfortable. He draws her heart anyway. She loves him, but not enough at this point to get her feet dirty and get out of her comfort zone.
4 My lover thrust his hand through the latch-opening; my heart began to pound for him.
She has experienced his presence, and when he is not there, she is desperate for him.
5 I arose to open for my lover, and my hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with flowing myrrh, on the handles of the lock.
Myrhh is what they buried people with. It represents death. In this case, I believe it is death to self. [She was drawn by love to go against her selfish desires and do what he asked, which draws her to pursue him]
6 I opened for my lover, but my lover had left; he was gone. My heart sank at his departure. I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer. 7 The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. They beat me, they bruised me; they took away my cloak, those watchmen of the walls!
NIVSo she was looking for him in the city- but could not find him. The watchmen who were supposed to be protecting her became her abusors; her “persecutors.” However, this does not stop her from pursuing. She is in love and wants everyone to know it. This has put a “reproach” on her, but she doesn't care and she keeps pursuing:
Song 5:7-9
They beat me, they bruised me;
they took away my cloak,
those watchmen of the walls!
8 O daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you —
if you find my lover,
what will you tell him?
Tell him I am faint with love.9 How is your beloved better than others,
most beautiful of women?
How is your beloved better than others,
that you charge us so?
NIVShe goes on to tell them who her lover is, and they are drawn to look for him with her:
Song 6:1
Where has your lover gone,
most beautiful of women?
Which way did your lover turn,
that we may look for him with you?
NIVYou guys gotta admit, that's pretty cool Anyway, it is at that moment that she realizes where her lover is… in HIS garden. He is not in hers or anyone else's territory- he is doing HIS business [tending the garden]. She has to meet him where he is at.
Wasn't Jesus in a garden before he was crucified?

10 things I hate about you. [Man, this is embarrassing! ]June 14, 2008 at 7:32 am#92745Not3in1ParticipantOh, we dig that movie, you know why? It's filmed in a city near where we live. The high school that they attend in the movie is the high school my husband went to (and his Mom went to). It's a cool old building. It was supposed to be a hotel when it was built in the teens but then there was a fire that gutted it. So they sold it to the city and turned it into a high school.
