Nick has bewailed the modern lack of fear of god. I celebrate it. Humanity has shown it can grow up and let go of the celestial parent figure that it needed to fear. We have left Leviticus behind long ago and now we can leave the rest of the ancient middle eastern goatherder's philisophy manual behind too and forge better and more humane ways of working together. Maybe the golden rule should survive but we always had that anyway. The nonsense of John 3:16 needs to be shown for the political con that it is.
May fear of non-existent supernatural beings no longer rob people of joy of life./rant.

Even by your none believe, you are displaying a great deal of faith, hoping that you are right.
We are living in a time, were soon you will see the proof that your faith was wrong.IM4Truth

On the contrary, I believe many things very firmly. I also have empiricism and reason on my side so (once again) you are wrong about it being faith. It is you who is the non-believer. You reject the rightful divinity of all the ancient gods of Olympus. you thumb your nose at Baal and pay no heed to Juju. What terrors lie in wait for you from these angry gods?
None actually. All gods are human inventions. No one need fear any of them.

Can you tell what’s black and what’s white?

What’s faith in God? and what has become a vain way of thinking?

October 24, 2008 at 3:33 pm#110979VestnikRAParticipantWe don't need to fear at all. Go is our loving father, why should we fear Him? And you, as a parent, would you like for your son to fear you or to love you?
I would like to share with you this increadible book that made a significant impact on my life: The Book of Mirdad by Mikhail Naimi. Here is an excerpt from the book:
MIRDAD: Love is the Law of God.
You live that you may learn to love.
You love that you may learn to live.
No other lesson is required of Man.
And what is it to love but for the lover to absorb forever the beloved so that the twain be one?
And whom, or what, is one to love? Is one to choose a certain leaf upon the Tree of Life and pour upon it all one's heart? What of the branch that bears the leaf? What of the stem that holds the branch? What of the bark that shields the stem? What of the roots that feed the bark, the stem, the branches and the leaves? What of the soil embosoming the roots? What of the sun, and sea, and air that fertilize the soil?
If one small leaf upon a tree be worthy of your love how much more so the tree in its entirety? The love that singles out a fraction of the whole foredooms itself to grief.October 24, 2008 at 5:20 pm#110982NickHassanParticipantHi V,

October 24, 2008 at 5:59 pm#110993VestnikRAParticipantYes, I am feeling that trustworthy because it's a joyful feeling.
