Ge 1:5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.how long do you think the first Day was ?
T,The sun was not yet created.
Where is you logic Kerwin; there is no “FIRST DAY” without the Sun.The “Sun” was created on “The FIRST Day” along with the earth, and the rotation of the earth.
And God said, Let there be light(Sun): and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness(axis rotation).
5 And God called the light (daytime) Day, and the darkness (nightime) he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Gen 1:3-5)God bless

T,God created the physical laws of light; as there was no light but him previously. All was darkness and night. The Sun is just a source of light.
Since there was no Sun the night/day cycle was not speaking of the night/day cycle of Earth.
