And it is hilarious that you say that God chose the AKJV Bible and made the translators to say it that way even though there is a thing called free will and the translators had a Trinity bias leading to the Comma Johanneum etc. But let's ignore that last point for now.
It's as if, God said, right I am going to write the correct bible in the year 1611. I will call it the AKJV. (Got to get that word 'authorise' in there to make it legit). It will be the only Word of God and it will be in English the second or third biggest language in the world. To prove this is the only correct version, I will incorporate sophisticated Gematria based on a new English number system where letters equal units that progress in ones. A = 1 B = 2 etc.
Further I will send my Gematria Prophet Ed J to the world to demonstrate this. He will weave sophisticated Mathematics even into that which he writes/types. He will have the truth and no one else will be like him. His words will add up. He will even correct Paul by using Gematira to show where that brother erred.
All who listen to Ed will understand. Those that do not ignore God's only true version of the Bible and do so to their own peril.

I think yes. Overall it is about God.
But it culminates in being about the one whom God sent.So I think it is a hard question. But if I was going to place a bet, I would go with God. And as I said before, there is little reference to the son in the OT and the OT is the bulk of the Bible.

Both the meanings and Gematria totals of [יהוה האלהים] and YHVH is GOD are identical.
YHVH is GOD=117 because God’s Hebrew name (יהוה) translates into English as YHVH.
These facts are present in the verse where the altar “עד” “Ed' is mentioned.(117) יהוה האלהים = YHVH is GOD (117)
