*This is a thread seperate from the oneness and trinity topics.*I created this thread for the people who wanted to discuss in their beliefs, Father and Son are equal in power and authority, etc. ; that both are God. Please state your reasons why you believe that the Father and Son are God…

Chap What does it say in John 1:1? It says The Word was God and the Word was with God. Unless you do not want to belief what scripture says, then Jesus was a God. That does not mean that he is the Almighty God. Ephesians 4:4 states that the Father is greater then all and is above all……
Jesus was there when God created man, because Gen. says ” Let us make man in our Image. So who is us and our? Taking along the line in John it was Jesus or the Word at the time. Jesus did everything by the power given to Him by His Father. Jesus created all by the power of he Father. Then Jesus emptied Himself of the Glory and became a man. John puts it this way, ” and the Word became flesh.” How? By the Holy Spirit Mary conceived and bore a Son and she called Him Jesus. There is no account in the N.T. what the Word was called. Just that when the Word became flesh he was called Jesus. He is the Son of God. Good enough for me. I except what the scripture is saying to me here.
There are some that have so much trouble with this. I want to ask you. If you have a Son, don't you call Him by your Family title or name. My Sons have the same name the I do, but that does not make me the same person then my Son. So why do some want to do that with Jesus? The trinity Doctrine was an invented by a man called Quintus Septimus Florens Tertullian. Look Him up on Google Heaven Net has a real good article on Him.

That by no means makes God a trinity. The trinity Doctrine teaches that there are three in one and all are co-equal.
That is false because of how often Jesus has said that the Father is greater than I. I only speak what the Father tells me to say.
I am not given you to any scriptures because I think you do know them.

That pretty much wrapped it up, unless you want to know what kind of a person Jesus was? That is another topic.

One more thing how many scriptures do we need to belief in something? I usually look at the whole picture of what is written then make up my mind. But you either belief what scriptures tell you or not. Its your choice.

    Peace and Love Mrs.

P.S. good to hear from you again :D :D :D

I never said I believed in trinity or duality. I believe in Oneness and also that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father with authority. I created those two threads: “Oneness” and “Duality”, so people could give their different views and beliefs about why they believe in Oneness or Duality and explain their reasoning. :)

I write so when others read it too they know how I feel about certain truths. I do not know what your beliefs are, Chap. Do you feel insulted because I was talking about the trinity? No offense.
    Always Love you Mrs. :D :D :D

No offence. But your statement is false. Trinitarrians do not believe that the Father Son and Holy Spirit are equal in rank but in essence and substance.

The Father is greater than the Son but the Spirit is subservient to the Son. Jn 14:28, John 16:14

Just as your Son has a Father who is just as human as your son is, even so God the Father has a “monogenes” unique, Son who is just as much God as the Father and the Spirit, for he is of the same substance and essence. Heb 1:2,3

Soon Yeshua will turn all Power and Authority back over to the Father that God may be all in all.

Does that mean Yeshua will no longer be in us, or that he will no longer have any power? I think not! For God will be all in all.

The difference in Yeshua and every other man is he as God lives in all like the Father by his Spirit which is the Spirit of God. Rom 8:9

    Hi WJ,

What does “substance” and “essence” mean as it relates to God' Son? Thanks.

W.J. That is pretty interesting what you say about the trinity. Where did you learn that? I was in the Catholic Church from Birth until I was 46 years old. I taught the trinity Doctrine to 4 of our Children. I taught them that the trinity is 3in1 and each is equal in power, and they are one. That is all what the Catholic Catechism teaches. So I do not get where you get what you say. Also Jesus as the Word was a spirit being above the Angels, He was second in command if you want to take it by rank to explain it easier. He was the Son of God. Why woukd it say “God gave His only begotten Son, and came down from Heaven and became man, Died and was resurrected and went basck to sit with the Father on His Throne, the Highest Honor above the Angels again to the glory He had before with the Father.
Sorry I respectfully disagree with you.

Chap No they are not equal. The Father is greater then the Son. Jesus said that many times that the Father is greater then He is. Read Ephesians 4:4-6 I said that before, that is a really good scripture. Please read it. Open your Bible Chap.

    Love you Mrs. :D :D

I know I read it but there is a verse in Ephesians (I can't remember which one) where it says that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father having authority that led me to the interpretation that they were equal. :)
