Shimmer,
What you say, and how you say what you say, is, to say the least, showing that you are in the Holy Spirit. Your humility and genuine love of God, love of God first and your fellow man after, are a credit of immense proportions here in this forum. Others should take note….
However, the quetions you asked, 'why do people think 'it' matters' and 'If the world should end right now', the answers are these:
1) It most certainly matters, if the person in question is on the level of understanding such that they can discern the right from the wrong. If they then, being in the knowledge of the refinement, choose the right, then all is well. But, if they being in the knowledge of the truth, choose the wrong, then they are an opposer to God's word, an opposer is a 'Satan'.
Now, as you rightly say, not all are to be teachers, but they that are must be mindful of the direction that they lead their 'sheep', that it is in the right direction.
Those that are the 'sheeplike' ones must remain in their sheeplike state until they are appointed to a greater status. Thus, what they believe, in that sheeplike status is their defence against wrongful thought, inas much as the leader has led them in the rightful truth.
The refinement is for those who aspire to a higher status.The debates, the discussions, the discord, the study, the wisdom imparted through understanding and imbibing of God's Holy Spirit through His Son, Jesus Christ. This is Spiritual Growth. But if you cannot endure the refinement, then remain n the sheplike status, else you will be misled by the Spirit of untruth, whichis Satan, the Devil, the deciever.
2) Shimmer, we will not feel sorry for those who go to hell, because, at the last, they will have been warned and given every opportunity to believe in the truth.
They that remain disinclined will be cut off. This is like Lot and family being rescued from Sodom and Gomorrah. Who feels sorry for the ones who were destroyed in that evil place? And yet, 'Mrs Lot' 'looked back'…(This means 'regret', 'feels sorry for') and was turned into a pillar of Salt.
Shimmer, will you be 'Mrs Lot' and regret thedestruction of the wicked, unbelieving ones, at the last?Yes, by all means feel sorry for them while their is still hope for them, but after that, no!
Shimmer, what of the Cancer of Sin. Do you regret cutting out the Cancerous cells, the wicked unbelieving ones, from the flesh of the body, every last cell, every last wicked one?Here is a call for refinement, as you are seeking such: Seek the Spiritual Mind that is from God through Christ, and all will become clear by the Power of Almighty God, YHVH: 'In the Name of the Father, and in the Name of the Son, and in the Name of the Holy Spirit'

becuase when we Just Ask,

Pray for the DEAD – I asked this of myself recently: “Why do people PRAY FOR THE DEAD”?

You may not have noticed but i nearly always – 99.9% of the time, only post in response to threads in “New Post”.
If it ain't in “New Post” then i don't see it but by accident I came across this one that wasn't in new post. it will be a rare day before that occurs again.

I don't know why she is attacking me in this thread – even if Nick is her “Brother” in whatever sense that means, it does not mask the TRUTH – look through the back post (in an manner of speaking) Have i said this in secret – no – so how is Princess coming only now to say this thing?
Nick annoyed the “bejesus” out of me – I reported him but it was said he was SICK (Don't know what sense it was meant) – constant unrelated ONE LINERS (Actually Three lines of nonesense). What did i say “Nick must be running a program that just posts randomised selection of text to an open thread” so bad was his postings.
Others complained about him, and some said 'he's lovely!' yeah, was it his mother?!!
JA, Nick helped me with many of his posts, I prefer to read shorter posts, so I agree with princess of the king, Nick also kept things going, as I said, things have got a bit slow around here lately, shouldnt you be in bed by now ?

I notice that it is the females who seemed to like reading one line nonesenses from Nick.
Posting things like: “God is Spirit” in every post with noting else??
or some spurious verse that didn't relate to what was in the post he was claiming to be responding to.I asked several times what the matter was but all i got was “God is spirit” – does that sound like a sane person?
I could write a program to do that – simply select from a random set of precreated verses – look for a 'link” word in the post and select the random verse that relates to that link word.
