Is Sunday worship a Catholic doctrine?
October 16, 2005 at 5:16 pm#122765NickHassanParticipantHi k,
The disciples met to break bread on the first day of the week[Acts 20.7]October 22, 2005 at 6:27 pm#122766kenrchParticipantThe apostles broke bread everyday.
Act 2:46 And they continued daily in the temple, with one soul: and at home, they broke bread and took food rejoicing, and in the simplicity of their heart.
Act 5:42 And they ceased not to teach daily, in the temple and at home, and to preach concerning our Lord Jesus Messiah.October 22, 2005 at 6:30 pm#122767NickHassanParticipantHi k,
So scripture says they taught daily.October 22, 2005 at 7:59 pm#122768kenrchParticipantThey sure did. They broke bread then after supper would teach. Everyday not just the 1st day. I love the truth!

You must have scripture I do not have access to if you can say this. Can you show us your sources for this claim?

Act 2:46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,
Act 2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Unless every day means once a week, Do these scriptures have a secret meaning?October 23, 2005 at 8:38 am#122772NickHassanParticipantQuote (kenrch @ Oct. 23 2005,05:21) Quote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 22 2005,23:42) Hi kenrch,

Hi K,
Thank you and sorry. I accept that could be taken that way.October 23, 2005 at 9:17 am#122773NickHassanParticipantActually kernch I want to go further and say my response was arrogant and sarcastic and rude. It was unjustifiable and I need to look at myself. Thank you for the wakeup call.

I was once like you I had by all means win an argument. In fact I looked forward to an argument. Believe me the spirit was grieving while I was writing, but yet at the same time giving me what to say, if that makes any since. Now my spirit is FULL OF JOY to know that you are an adult christian simply looking for some meat.
Next to sex pride is Satan's 2nd tool for needling you to respond with a fleshly tongue.
I myself am dealing with lust after women. Sometimes I catch myself and some times I don't. Lately thanks to getting more into the word the Lord has drawn nearer to me and of course I lust less and less, thanks be to Jesus!I'm looking for and I pray I found true children of God looking for moor truth. The Lord made it clear that I need truth. This is how we grow. How much further have you grown since you received the truth about the trinity doctrine? Seek and you will find, well He wasn't kidding about seeking. Thanks for listening to the Holy Spirit and humbling yourself that show true maturety.
We are to love one another. I think that's what i miss about leaving the babes of my former churches. Even though they remain babes most were sincere. Oh I tried showing them what the Lord had showed me, but they responded with the usual “I'm listing to an evil demon” . All we have to do is ask for the Holy Spirit and we will recieve him.
Luk 11:11 And which of you, being a father, will give a stone to his son, who makes request for bread? or for a fish, will give him a snake?
Luk 11:12 Or for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
Luk 11:13 If, then, you who are evil are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who make request to him?
I used to worry about which voice should I listen to, well all I have to do is ask for the Holy Spirit and not worry about a demon wispering in my ear. Our father would never allow a demon to fool us when we asked for His Spirit. One thing I wasn't doing was ASKING for the Holy Spirit EVERYDAY.
My walk has taken a very, very, big leap foward since I've been asking for the Spirit every morning.
Well I've got to stop gabbing about myself, at least that's what I hearThanks again Nick
October 24, 2005 at 2:00 am#122775NickHassanParticipantHi k,
I came here because I had had severe doubts for some years about the trinity doctrine. My views too were derided as rebellion but here I found reason at last. There were others who also could no longer stomach the bizarre contortions necessary to justify a God that was just like any other. An icon on the wall wityh three parts. I knew scripture told us we were able to be reborn into Jesus and into the family of God. That being the case how could we be part of a trinity in Jesus and still worship that God who was apart from us. They two concepts I could not marry together. 'Mystery' no longer was a satisfactory reason for not being able to do so. Finding trinity was a falsehood was freeing. Suddenly God was understandable and commonsense was able to connect the dots in scripture.October 27, 2005 at 2:49 pm#122776kenrchParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Oct. 23 2005,10:17) Actually kernch I want to go further and say my response was arrogant and sarcastic and rude. Hi Nick,
I like your last two statements. Seems like the first one was from the flesh and the second from the spirit. Is sunday a Catholic doctrine? Acts 20:7 just states that they broke bread, and Paul did some teaching, which was done everyday.
What about the 3 day issue? Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
How does anyone get 3 days (daylight hours) and three nights (dark hours) from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning? This was three 24 hour days. The argument that the Jews days were only 12 hours doesn't hold water.
Three days and 3 nights.
The next day after our Lord died was a ANNUAL sabbath day.
Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the Preparation, that the bodies should not remain on the cross upon the sabbath (for the day of that sabbath was a high day), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
