    @berean,

What’s wrong, can’t find the passages to support your belief? If this has been proven “long ago”, then it should be simple to confirm and give the passages that support this “Jesus is god” belief.

    Begin…

You still haven’t told me what I’ve lied about, why?!?

    @Berean,

YOU made the claim the Jesus is G-d and I asked for scriptural support. To tell me to find it out myself is deflection, I want to know why you believe the Jesus is G-d and to support it…that conversation thing. The Jesus never claimed to be G-d; yet, you posted the writings of another claiming he is. If the Jesus never said he was G-d how can you push the writings of someone who falsely claims the Jesus is G-d? That sounds a little anti-christ…hmmm.

You said in an earlier post people need to “study their bible”; may want to take your own advice and start verifying what you have been told is truth.

You still haven’t told me what I lied about…

    Hi all

    Here is the rest of

    The Gospel in creation

    By E.J.Waggoner (1855-1916)

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”( Heb.11:3) How do we know how the worlds were made? By faith. Faith gives knowledge. That is its special work. Knowledge gained by faith is not vague and uncertain, but is the most absolutely certain of any knowledge. In fact, there is no real knowledge that does not spring from faith. Knowledge that comes in any other way is speculation. The unbelieving soul regards faith as folly, but the faithful soul knows that faith makes for it a solid foundation. Whoever will believe may know.

The knowledge of the alphabet is one of the most common things in the world. It lies at the very foundation of all learning. No one ridicules the child saying that he knows the letters of the alphabet, and for declaring most positively, in spite of all contradiction, that “A” is “A”. And yet he knows that only by faith. He has never investigated the subject for himself; he has accepted the statement of his teacher. The teacher himself had to learn the alphabet in the same way — by faith. It was not demonstrated to him that “A” is “A.” It could not have been. If he had refused to believe the fact till it was demonstrated to him, he never would have learned to read. He had to accept the fact by faith, and then it would prove itself true under every circumstance. There is nothing of which people are more absolutely sure than they are of the letters of the alphabet, and there is nothing for which they are more absolutely dependent on faith.

Now, just as the child learns the alphabet, so we learn the truths of God. Whoever receives the kingdom of heaven must receive it as a little child. By faith we learn to know Jesus Christ, who is the Alpha and the Omega, — the entire alphabet of God. He who believes the simple statement of the Bible, concerning creation, may know for a certainty that God did create the heaven and the earth by the power of His Word. The fact that some unbeliever doubts this, and thinks it is foolish, does not shake his knowledge, nor prove that he does not know it, any more than our knowledge of the alphabet is shaken or disproved by some other person’s ignorance of it.

“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” In the Century Magazine of May, 1891, there was a very interesting description of the production of voice-figures. The article was entitled “Visible Sound.” Mrs. Watts Hughes had employed a simple device to test the intensities of vocal sounds. It was an elastic membrane stretched over the mouth of a receiver, into which receiver the voice was introduced by means of a wide mouthed tube. On this membrane sand or fine powder was sprinkled. It was found that upon singing into the tube the powder was gently agitated by PICTURE
the vibrations of the membrane, which vibrations correspond to those of the voice, differing according to the pitch and intensity of the sound. This, of course, was what might be expected. But the wonder was that in every instance the agitation produced the shape of some plant or flower, or even of some of the lower forms of animal life. Something similar to this may be seen when one breathes upon the window pane in frosty weather.

It was found that when the powder was dry it would not retain the form after the vibration of the voice ceased. So the expedient was adopted of slightly moistening it, when the various shapes could be retained and photographed.

This shows that the breath, as it comes from the lungs, has the shape of living things, and to the singer suggested a thought, which she thus expresses:—

“Closing now my brief sketch of these voice-figures, as I have observed them, I would add that my experiments have been made as a vocalist, using my own voice as the instrument of investigation; and I must leave it for others more acquainted with natural science to adjust the accordance of the these appearances with facts and laws already known. Yet, passing from one stage to another of these inquiries, question after question has presented itself to me, until I have continually felt myself standing before mystery, in great part hidden, although some glimpses seem revealed. And I must say, besides, that as day by day I have gone on singing into shape these peculiar forms, and, stepping out of doors, have seen their parallels living in the flowers, ferns, and trees around me; and, again, as I have watched the little heaps in the formation of the floral figures gather themselves up, and then shoot out their petals, just as a flower springs form the swollen bud — the hope has come to me that these humble experiments may afford some suggestions in regard to Nature’s production of her own beautiful forms, and may thereby aid, in some slight degree, the revelation of yet another link in the great chain of the organized universe that, we are told in Holy Writ, took its shape at the voice of God.”

This is not given as an example of how the Lord spoke the earth into existence in the beginning, for we cannot know how He did it, but it will serve to help us to grasp the fact. Man is made in the image of God, but he has no creative power. In his breath there can be only the forms of living things; but in the breath of God there are not only the forms, but the very living things themselves, for He is the living God, and with Him is “the fountain of life.” When He speaks, the word which names the thing contains the very thing itself. Whatever the word describes exists in living form in that word.

This is indicated by the words of the Apostle Paul concerning God, that He “calleth those things which be not as though they were.” This is an attribute of Divinity alone. If a man calls a thing that is not, as though it were, it is a lie. But God does so, and He cannot lie. How is this? Simply because that when He calls a thing by name, or says that a thing will be, it already exists, even though it cannot be seen. The thing is in His word. When He names a thing that previously had no existence, that instant the thing exists, for His word forms it as it names it. When He says that a thing will be, then it is as sure as though it had already appeared, because it does really exist in the word that has been spoken. It is for this reason that so much of prophecy is in the perfect tense, as though already accomplished. So when the worlds were to be brought into existence, God spoke, and there they were. They were formed by the breath of His mouth.

    Hi all

    DARKNESS AT MOON

A remote, rugged corner in Nevada is considered one of the darkest places on Earth. Massacre Rim has been designated as a Dark Sky Sanctuary for stargazers. The tiny communities in the area willingly minimize night lights to limit the impact of artificial light on the evening sky, giving visitors a chance to see God’s amazing cosmos in a way they can’t in or around cities.

The fourth trumpet is marked by a darkness that goes deeper than the absence of physical light. Guided by the pattern of the seven churches and seven seals, we remember that the fourth church, Thyatira, is marked by “that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants” (Revelation 2:20). This immoral woman symbolizes an apostate church.

Christ said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). Light shines from Bible truth, as David said, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). But in 1199, Pope Innocent III banned the reading of the Bible in private gatherings; the suppression of the Scripture only got worse from there.

This period, appropriately known as the Dark Ages, was one of biblical ignorance. The papal darkness under the fourth seal, when death was pervasive through the church, is seen in this fourth trumpet. Isaiah’s words well describe this time: “Darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people” (Isaiah 60:2). God’s Word was constrained, and those who preached Bible truth were hunted and killed. Even still, those lights shone out in the darkness.

On a clear night in Massacre Rim, people are stunned by the contrast of vivid stars shining over a dark world. May that describe your life!

Father God, You brought us from spiritual darkness into the light of Your Salvation. May we never forget You and Your ways.

    Hi all

    PATIENCE

Strengthened in all things by his glorious power, unto patience and longsuffering always with joyfulness. (Colossians 1:11)

Love is the law of the kingdom of Christ. The Lord invites each of us to reach a high standard. Gentleness and patience must be revealed in the lives of his children. Patience bears offenses, yes, many offenses, without seeking revenge by word or deed.

Longsuffering is patience in offense, long endurance. If you are animated by longsuffering, you will not share with others what you think you know about the errors and faults of your brother. You will seek to help him and save him because he has been redeemed by the blood of Christ. “Reprove him between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.” » “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness. Take heed to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” To be patient does not mean to be gloomy or sad, bitter or hardened; it is to be just the opposite.

Try to live at peace with all men, and let your soul be placed in a sweet and fragrant atmosphere. The Lord hears every loose word you speak. If you fight against the selfishness of human nature, you will make steady progress in the work you have undertaken to overcome evil tendencies, whether hereditary or acquired. Accomplish great things by patience, long-suffering, and endurance. Remember, you cannot be humbled by the foolish speech of others, but when you answer foolishly yourself, you let slip a victory that might have been won. Beware of Your Words.

Endurance and unselfishness characterize the words and actions of those who have been born again to live a new life in Christ.

You don’t learn by having faith. You learn by questioning, by challenging, by re-examining everything you’ve ever believed. And yet, all this is a matter of faith – the faith there is a truth to be found. It is a paradox: To truly question, one must truly have faith. (Freeman)

The toughest questions come from those with the strongest faith. Do you have “faith” or “belief”?

    FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH

After a forest fire in Yellowstone Park, a National Geographic photographer joined some forest rangers on their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno’s damage. As they hiked through the burnt forest, the photographer found a scorched bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.

Somewhat curious of the eerie sight, he gently struck at the bird with his boot. When he did, three tiny chicks scurried out from under their dead mother’s wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had led her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.

She could have flown to safety but refused to abandon her chicks. When the blaze arrived and the heat scorched her small body, the mother remained steadfast. Because she was willing to die, those under the cover of her wings would live. The mother bird’s instinct to protect her young at the cost of her own life describes a quality infrequently found among humans.

During the shootings in the Aurora, Colorado, movie theater this last year, some people ran for their lives, leaving their own children behind. But others threw themselves over their family at the cost of their own lives. It reminds me of the Bible verse: “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16).

Jesus did not hesitate to give His life for a world soon to be enveloped in an unquenchable forest fire. Christ wept out the words, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!” (Matthew 23:37). Our Savior stretched out His arms over us, to shield us from the penalty of sin. Christ died in order that we might live.

The picture of a mother hen quietly sitting over her cute brood of little peeping chicks makes us smile. But the picture of Calvary is like the bird that died in the fire at Yellowstone, with outstretched wings, faithful unto death.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

    Inspiration tells us…
“The importance of the Sabbath as the memorial of creation is that it keeps ever present the true reason why worship is due to God, because He is the Creator, and we His creatures. “The Sabbath therefore lies at the very foundation of divine worship; for it teaches this great truth in the most impressive manner, and no other institution does this. The keeping of the Sabbath is a sign of loyalty to the true God.”

    Berean,

The Sabbath…why must this topic be beaten into everyone most Sunday mornings?? As if the faith you belong to is the only one doing what was commissioned by G-d? As if this religion you follow is superior to all others because you observe the sabbath. But, are you really doing what G-d commanded?

The example G-d established at creation was to work for six days and rest on the seventh. Is it now “sinful” to work on our last calendar day of the week? What do you tell those whose work schedule has them working on this “last day”; are they to get a new job? What do you tell that farmer who actually has to work seven days a week to make sure you have food on your table. Let’s make this a little more personal, do you tell your “pastor” he is sinning by teaching on the sabbath? After all, he is working and being paid to do so; when is his sabbath? It definitely isn’t on Saturday. OOPS!

What’s interesting is this command of sabbath worship was given to the Israelite nation at Mount Sinai and not the world. It seems you follow the faith of Israel and their commands when it’s convenient to do so and reject all other commands given by G-d.

Your continual posting on this subject is quite judgmental (judge not, lest you be judged) of those who don’t worship the same as you and is shameful. Free yourself from the shackles of christianity and turn to Hashem alone; you will no longer live in fear or in slavery.

-From The Great Controversy pages 99–101

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:8

About this time there arrived in Prague two strangers from England, men of learning, who had received the light and had come to spread it in this distant land. Beginning with an open attack on the pope’s supremacy, they were soon silenced by the authorities; but being unwilling to relinquish their purpose, they had recourse to other measures. Being artists as well as preachers, they proceeded to exercise their skill. In a place open to the public they drew two pictures. One represented the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, “meek, and sitting upon an ass” (Matthew 21:5), and followed by His disciples in travel-worn garments and with naked feet. The other picture portrayed a pontifical procession—the pope arrayed in his rich robes and triple crown, mounted upon a horse magnificently adorned, preceded by trumpeters and followed by cardinals and prelates in dazzling array.

Here was a sermon which arrested the attention of all classes. Crowds came to gaze upon the drawings. None could fail to read the moral, and many were deeply impressed by the contrast between the meekness and humility of Christ the Master and the pride and arrogance of the pope, His professed servant. There was great commotion in Prague, and the strangers after a time found it necessary, for their own safety, to depart. But the lesson they had taught was not forgotten. The pictures made a deep impression on the mind of Huss and led him to a closer study of the Bible and of Wycliffe’s writings. Though he was not prepared, even yet, to accept all the reforms advocated by Wycliffe, he saw more clearly the true character of the papacy, and with greater zeal denounced the pride, the ambition, and the corruption of the hierarchy.

From Bohemia the light extended to Germany, for disturbances in the University of Prague caused the withdrawal of hundreds of German students. Many of them had received from Huss their first knowledge of the Bible, and on their return they spread the gospel in their fatherland.

Tidings of the work at Prague were carried to Rome, and Huss was soon summoned to appear before the pope. To obey would be to expose himself to certain death. The king and queen of Bohemia, the university, members of the nobility, and officers of the government united in an appeal to the pontiff that Huss be permitted to remain at Prague and to answer at Rome by deputy. Instead of granting this request, the pope proceeded to the trial and condemnation of Huss, and then declared the city of Prague to be under interdict.

In that age this sentence, whenever pronounced, created widespread alarm. The ceremonies by which it was accompanied were well adapted to strike terror to a people who looked upon the pope as the representative of God Himself, holding the keys of heaven and hell, and possessing power to invoke temporal as well as spiritual judgments. It was believed that the gates of heaven were closed against the region smitten with interdict; that until it should please the pope to remove the ban, the dead were shut out from the abodes of bliss. In token of this terrible calamity, all the services of religion were suspended. The churches were closed. Marriages were solemnized in the churchyard. The dead, denied burial in consecrated ground, were interred, without the rites of sepulture, in the ditches or the fields. Thus by measures which appealed to the imagination, Rome essayed to control the consciences of men.
