Hi All
There are certain rules that this forum has in place and one is to honor the wishes of the creator of a thread for that thread.
If exceptions are made because of names being mentioned which would turn it into a debate and off topic eventually then all threads become the same.
The owner of the sight will decide if a name can be mentioned in a thread with their quoted words or not, until then what say you?

would this view not open to slander the names and quotes to a point that would mislead and slander the name of the one that quote it ? or then change the quote and keep the name intact ,?
we have seen this many times ,by the ones who looking for more power,is this not like that in the world ?
remember the rules are not made for the righteous but for the unrighteous to act ,
this is my two cent

July 31, 2011 at 10:53 pm#254599ProclaimerParticipantI personally think that if a person quotes another and the interpretation is not true, then a person can apply to have the post edited or removed, thereby negating any defense.
But I think we should be allowed to quote posts from members, otherwise how are we to say that such a group or person argues this way or that way.July 31, 2011 at 11:29 pm#254604terrariccaParticipantQuote (t8 @ Aug. 01 2011,16:53) I personally think that if a person quotes another and the interpretation is not true, then a person can apply to have the post edited or removed, thereby negating any defense.

T8Quote I personally think that if a person quotes another and the interpretation is not true, then a person can apply to have the post edited or removed, thereby negating any defense. but this way it put the burden to the victim rather than the possible offender,
in that case the rule should be that if the ;one is to honor the wishes of the creator of a thread for that thread.
providing that he is not to use any other name than those who support his views,i agree to use quotes of others but not there names ,if it is used then the thread should becomes
public,this is my 5 cents
August 4, 2011 at 12:35 am#254906ProclaimerParticipantQuoting a post embeds the authors name by default. If the post has multiple quotes, it will embed all the names in your post.
But it would still work if you copied the post excluding quotes in the post and then pasted it into a quote in your post, thereby removing the author of the post's name. That way no one has to defend themselves because they haven't been mentioned. Although names could be in the message you are quoting and it could get messy from there.
You would also have to post in a way to speak generically with no quotes or mentions of people who cannot participate.
Not sure if that is the best way, but it would work at least.

t8I agree! I am not saying that a poster has the right to slander or lie against another poster. As you said it sould be edited or deleted. But the wishes of a poster that created a thread should be honored or else the thread turns into another debate and a mess like all others.

Keith,On the anti Jesus is God thread Irene interjected a comment regarding Kathi joining the trinitarian “bunch.” I felt compelled to reply to that. Irene kept it up and I did NOT debate her.
You are too rigid about this.

One coment does not constitute a debate. I was not content without addressing Irene's comment at all. I didn't foresee that you would have a cow about it.Jack
August 4, 2011 at 10:19 pm#254982Worshipping JesusParticipantNot having a cow Jack, but as you can see it caused Irene to post a huge page in response which will only cludder the thread.
I don't see why you can't see that. It seems that you are having a cow bro. Cheers, have a beer and settle down.
