Mary was a righteous woman and blessed among woman. I would hardly think that she is with the wicked.
She is awaiting the resurrection and to be with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.August 29, 2006 at 7:53 pm#26319NickHassanParticipantHi,
Was Mary called?
Rom 11
” 29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
Yes.
God does not change His mind
2 Tim 2
” 11It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:12If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. “
She did not deny the Master.

Catholicism uses the bible. It is read every day at the masses with different respect shown to the words of the apostles and the gospels-you stand when the gospel excerpts are read.Yet the apostles spoke the words of God too and every one of their written words carries as much weight as any word from the gospel because they were led by the Spirit of Christ.
But catholicism teaches that their traditions are equal to scripture as the ongoing teaching of Christ. They quickly point out that they regard themselves as the masters of, and possessors and interpreters of truth, and as they claim to be infallible they say they cannot be proven wrong.
It would be most unwise to follow such men as they do not fear God nor the consequences of their blasphemous actions.
They have defined themselves and their leadership as truth.

It isn't Mary that has done anything wrong. She is blessed above all women.
It is men who have made her more then what she is. She is a woman. That is is. She has nothing to do with the gospel of Christ. Nothing. And for anyone to say she plays any part in the faith other then the mother of Jesus is an offense to God.

Traditions and scripture go together. You will probably quote 2nd Tim 3:16 and tell me otherwise. You are a typical protestant and feel that the bible alone makes up everything and is intended by God and all that stuff.Growning up in the RCC I went to Catechism. I remember this paticular phrase dealing with tradition. It went like this…Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God. Because of tradition…many things have been discovered including the veneration of Mary, her immaculate conception and her bodily assumption into heaven..etc. Tradition and scripture go together.

Hi Robyn,
The crux of the matter is whether or not you agree with Jesus and regard scripture as paramount in teaching or you agree with your leaders, and the Pharisees, who say otherwise. You must decide whom you will follow.Mk 7
” 5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition”
Will you follow him at whatever cost Robyn?
Mt 10
“32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”

Hi Robyn,
Jesus is not our God and he never said he was. He is who he said he is, the Son of God.Mary is the mother of the Son of God.
Teachings that are new in terms that they do not appear in the bible have no biblical authenticity but come from the devious minds of men.
Do not follow them as they do not fear God, and the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Prov 1
” 7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”August 30, 2006 at 9:55 pm#26408NickHassanParticipantHi Robyn,
Jn 6.67
“67Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?”August 30, 2006 at 10:00 pm#26410He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantRobyn,
I disagree with anyone who says that Jesus is not our God. For he most surely is our God. God the Father made him God over all of creation, and all of creation was made by him and through him by the will of the Father. So anyone who says the Jesus is not God is not of the family of God.
August 30, 2006 at 10:25 pm#26413NickHassanParticipantHi H,
Do you then agree that Mary is the mother of God?August 30, 2006 at 10:27 pm#26414He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantMary is the mother of Jesus who is the son of man.

August 30, 2006 at 10:56 pm#26421NickHassanParticipantThank you.
But Mary is called “the mother of My Lord”Lk 1.38f
“39And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;40And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
41And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.”
August 30, 2006 at 10:57 pm#26422He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantTo say that anyone is the mother of God comes from paganistic beliefs.
August 30, 2006 at 11:00 pm#26423NickHassanParticipantHi H,
I agree but you can see how the folly of human wisdom
adding to the Word of God
can lead up into the swamps and mists of false doctrine.August 30, 2006 at 11:09 pm#26424He’s Coming in the CloudsParticipantMost of the world would rather believe the words of men instead of the Word of God. It is for this reason God sent his Son. If man would not have believed the lie in the beginning, there would have been no need of salvation. Yet, the Father knew man would fall. It is for this reason that even before the creation of the heavens and the earth, our salvation was in place, in the beginning.
