Water makes us “clean”. Jesus was baptized in water,

AC 10:45 All the circumcised(JEWS) believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
AC 10:46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God.

Ac 15:7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.
Ac 15:8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.
Ac 15:9 He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.
Ac 15:10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
Ac 15:11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

Ac 15:14 Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.
Ac 15:15 The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:
Ac 15:16 “ ‘After this I will return
    and rebuild David’s fallen tent.
    Its ruins I will rebuild,
    and I will restore it,
Ac 15:17 that the remnant of men may seek the Lord,
and all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things’
Ac 15:18 that have been known for ages.
Ac 15:19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
Ac 15:20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Ac 15:23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

    Greetings.

Ac 15:24 We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said.
Ac 15:25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul—
Ac 15:26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ac 15:27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing.
Ac 15:28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:
Ac 15:29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.

    Farewell.

look what John he baptist says about water baptism ;Jn 1:26 “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know.
Jn 1:27 He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
Jn 1:28 This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Jn 1:33 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

Jesus did not BAPTIZE ANY ONE with literal water ,unless it was the washing of the feet ,WHO DO YOU TRY TO FOLLOW ???

but what Jesus did relentlessly is preach ,teach, explain, bring truth of God ,denounce the errors of those who should be leaders in truth, call out disciples teach them the truth of Gods words ,and showed that he had Gods approval by the miracles done through him by God

    Christ also teach that the expression he use as WATER was his reference to knowledge ,and so drink it or be submerge(Baptized or born of water) in it ;
Jn 4:13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
Jn 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Jn 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Jn 16:14 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.

the only ritual Jesus put up or ask to remember is HIS DEAD ,but he did not ask to make it an holiday ,a church day ,a worship day,
because he said ;; Jn 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

this can not be done through physical actions right ??? YES

    Hi Wakeup,

You are teaching contrary to what Jesus taught. Jesus told us to be baptized. Jesus spoke of the saving water. Water has been here from the very beginning. Water is all through scriptures. Water makes us “clean”. Jesus was baptized in water, would you not rather follow in his very footsteps yet you say that being born again does not happen till AFTER death. This is not proven in scriptures. What has been proven in scriptures is that being born again is by spirit and by water. The water is the immersion in water and the burial of your sins, it is being risen from the dead – the spiritual death – it is being born again not of seed corruptible but of seed un-corruptible.

Jesus gives us living water, and if you knew what this meant you would agree with me.

To be baptized today does not necessarily mean that you have to go and join up for a lifetime with some denomination (unless you join a cult). I was baptized in a simple Church (i do not even know what denomination it was). They never demanded that i go, or anything. They just baptized.

Since then I regularly see the saving power of WATER. When I have a simple shower or a bath, I often see things regarding truth because I am again being washed in a way. If you doubt, why do you doubt?

I do not know all of the fancy words and beliefs that go with baptism, I may have some things wrong, but I know that water baptism will save you. You have to reborn of water AND Spirit.

    Open your eyes Wakeup.

    2Besee.

I never said dont be babtised with water did I?

I said; babtims with water is not being BORN AGAIN.
This was originally the topic.I was babtised by the Roman church when I was 8yrs old, only because I was at
    a roman school.

Am I born again? A 3 month old baby was babtised; is he born again? Two billion christians re babtised; are they all born again?
Why only the little flock? All that water wasted.

    Hi Wakeup,
You are being very cunning now.
Did you not say that it is 'unnecessary to be born of water'?

Also, Catholic Baptism at age eight…. is that just a sprinkling of water or full immersion?

Thats what they do,Just sprinkle with water.
Babtism with water is just for the repentance of sins.
I will never have my self babtised by just anyone.
Babtism with water can not stop anyones reward.

But babtism of the Holy spirit is a must. For it is Jesus
    doing it,by his choice.

    Hi 2besee,

Remember Paul said “thank God I never baptised any of you”?

What does that say of their baptism?

    What of the broader implications?

We can not be baptised by just anyone.

It must be done by a true man of God.

And who can truly know the heart of man but God?

Let me ask you, do you believe that once baptised, one is guaranteed eternal life?
That one has been accepted by God by that pledge alone?

    Hyperdispensationalism

There are some Christians termed “Hyperdispensationalists” who accept only Paul's Epistles as applicable for the church today. They do not accept baptism or the Lord's Supper, since these are not found in the Prison Epistles. They also teach that Peter's gospel message was not the same as Paul's.

    Hyperdispensationalists assert:

The great commission [Matthew 28:18–20] and its baptism is directed to early Jewish believers, not the Gentile believers of mid-Acts or later.

The baptism of Acts 2:36–38 is Peter's call for Israel to repent of complicity in the death of the Messiah; not as a Gospel announcement of atonement for sin, a later doctrine revealed by Paul.

Water baptism found early in the Book of Acts is, according to this view, now supplanted by the one baptism [1 Cor 12:13] foretold by John the Baptist. The one baptism for today, it is asserted, is the “baptism of the Holy Spirit” [Ac 11:15–16]

John, as he said “baptized with water”, as did Jesus's disciples to the early, Jewish Christian church. Jesus himself never personally baptized with water, but did so through his disciples [Jn 4:1–2] Unlike Jesus' first Apostles, Paul, his Apostle to the Gentiles, was sent to preach rather than to baptize [1 Co 1:17] but did occasionally baptize, for instance in Corinth [1:14–16] and in Philippi, [Ac 16:13] in the same manner as they [Mt 28:19]. He also taught the spiritual significance of the submerging in baptism and how one contacts the atoning death of Christ in such [Rom 6:4]

Other Hyperdispensationalists believe that baptism was necessary only for a short period between Christ's ascension and mid-Acts. The great commission [Mt 28:18–20] and its baptism was directed to early Jewish believers, not the Gentile believers of mid-Acts or later. Any Jew who believed did not receive salvation [Mk 16:16] [1 Pe 3:21] or the Holy Spirit [Ac 2:38] until they were baptized. This period ended with the calling of Paul [9:17–18]. **Peter's reaction when the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit before baptism [10:44–48] is worthy of note.**

[44] While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.

[45] And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were
amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.
[46] For they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared,
[47] “Can any one forbid water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
[48] And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.

Once they receive baptism of water, they are reborn as a child of God.

Of course, even after they have received the Holy Spirit, it is no guarantee, according to the scriptures.

    Hebrews 6.

[4]It is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
[5] and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come,
[6] if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt.
[7] For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.
[8] But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.

    Christ also teach that the expression he use as WATER was his reference to knowledge ,and so drink it or be submerge(Baptized or born of water) in it ;
Jn 4:13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
Jn 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.

YES

**Peter's reaction when the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit before baptism [10
    :44–48] is worthy of note.**

[44] While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.

[45] And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.

Yes Ed, Jesus did say that.

    Jesus also commanded Water Baptism.
Unless a man be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven!

    Matt 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

    Acts 10:44-48
While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.
And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.
